Summary: Tegoshi is falling apart.
Author's Note: I'd call this angst. I don't know why it's so angsty. (Although, not HEAVILY angsty? I don't really know anymore.) But yes. I hope you enjoy. And I don't know where this came from. So sorry. XP
Tegoshi isn't sure why, but he suddenly feels like his body is burning up as he leans against a wall for both balance and comfort. He leans his head back against the wall and his arms are firmly at his side as he tries take in as much coolness as possible. His eyes flutter closed as he steadies his breathing and his legs threaten to crumble from under him. He takes in a shuddering breath and his legs finally give in as he falls to the ground, his mouth dry and his eyes squeezed tightly as he tries to stop the tears from falling.
His head is spinning with words about "Tegomass" and a partnership with Massu, and Tegoshi isn't sure if he should be happy or insanely miserable because this is only making it seem like NewS will never be back together and he is making a new unit with Massu.
He should be happy.
He should.
Massu was one of his closest friends. They'd been together for a long while and Johnny always put them together (as though foretelling just how well their voices would mesh together). This was probably one of the greatest things that could happen to Tegoshi.
But he wasn't.
Not one tiny...
Little...
Iota.
If anything, this made him feel even more miserable. He and Massu were being made to "move beyond" NewS and make this new unit. Just them. Nobody else. And he wasn't sure how he was supposed to take this. Did they really expect him to be happy that the company had just thrown this onto their laps? Kusano and Uchi were still on suspension. As was NewS. The members had barely seen each other since those last few days and he hadn't heard a thing from Shige or Koyama in ages. And...He couldn't even remember the last time he talked to Ryo and Yamapi. Ryo was off with Kanjani8 being wacky and silly and just not the Ryo that Tegoshi knew.
Then Yamapi.
Yamashita Tomohisa.
Tegoshi wasn't sure he could even go down this road. To think about Yamapi and still remain as calm and sane as before he started the thought process. To Tegoshi, Yamapi was almost everything he aspired for. Everything he wanted. To do. To reach. To strive for. And yet... Tegoshi felt like there was something he was missing when it came to Yamapi. Something that was on the tip of his tongue, but he could never mouth it.
Tegoshi drops his head into his hands and muffles a scream of horror. The world spins before his eyes as thoughts of NewS and Massu and Koyama and Massu and Shige and Tegomass and Ryo and... Yamapi flash in his head.
"Tegoshi," a voice murmurs beside him and Tegoshi looks through the gaps between his fingers and sitting beside him is Yamapi. Yamapi who is looking at him with a furrowed brow and Tegoshi feels about ready to collapse.
When had he arrived? How long had he been sitting there? ...Did he know? Tegoshi wants to ask all this. He wants to talk, but his voice refuses to speak. Instead, he's just silent and unmoving and there.
"Come on. Let's get you home," Yamapi whispers, standing up and pulling the younger boy up. Tegoshi stumbles as he gets up, but Yamapi's steady arms helps him upright and Tegoshi looks up with watery eyes. Yamapi's steady gaze stares at Tegoshi and the older male wraps an arm around Tegoshi and for some reason, that one simple move makes him feel more secure than he expected. "You'll be all right. We'll get through this."
The words make Tegoshi feel better than he ever has been before.
