almost ready

On November 11th, I will be running my first half-marathon. I have been fairly nervous about this because I have not been training nearly as well as I was last year at this time. It's been very hard to just buckle down and do it for a number of reasons, wanning enthusiasm being at the top of the list. However, I am starting to feel more confident, largely due to the following:

1. Thursday morning I ran a 5k in 26:20. I was trying to keep it down to a pace that I could maintain for an entire half-marathon, but I have to admit that I will NOT be able to go that fast for four times the distance. It did make me feel pretty happy though.

2. Saturday I ran for 2 hours with very little walking. I definitely was slowing down towards the end, but that's fine. I figure that I covered around 17k (11 miles). That means I would only have another 4k, or 2.5mi to go...only. :)
