I have been extremely negligent lately when it comes to journaling. I think this is mainly due to the fact that I don't feel comfortable doing it at work, and my home laptop is totally on the fritz. (It gets too hot and turns off on its own at random. It's also infuriatingly slow.) This leaves me Ryan's computer, but I usually feel like I'm in his way so I just read up and leave.
The other reason for ignoring this journal is because I've just been away from home a lot. This time, thankfully, it has been for fun reasons instead of for work. Nowadays I've been cherishing my free time, and refusing to think about work when I'm not there for the most part.
Take last weekend, for example. I went into work two hours early so I could leave at 3:00. I then rushed home, took a shower and Ryan and I were out the door and off to the mountains. We drove an hour west to Kananaskis, parked, and hiked eight kilometers to a back country campsite. Saturday we hiked another 14-15k or so, and Sunday we hiked 21k back. It was awesome! Last summer we bought a bunch of equipment for back country hiking and never used it. Finally we got to, and it was so fun. Nothing like carrying your life on your back as you look at gorgeous scenery.
We were going to do it again this weekend, but we won't after all. But one thing is for sure; I'm going to enjoy my weekend!
