Hello friends,
So because the weather is finally projected to be above 90 degrees this weekend, and we're now past the first day of June, I figure it's a good enough time to declare that it's beginning to look a lot like summer. I was unsure about all of the things I'm doing this summer but now that we're getting into the heart of the season (a phrase that sounds entirely too lame), I feel like I have a grasp on all of the things I'm trying to accomplish before Fall, and a trip back to the Homeland, arrive. I am working hard (for once) to keep up with my organ and piano lessons, and so far, so good. I'm still thinking about getting drum lessons but more and more, I'm finding that I want to have some free time each night, and given that I have a 9 AM class now, I think that I've got enough on the plate. Speaking of that class, it's my retake of ECON 202, just to be prepared for a possible switch to an ECON major once UVA takes me back, and it's pretty easy so far. Well, the material is easy; staying awake is quite the struggle, even though the teacher's a pretty cool guy. And eventually, I'll be putting up a webpage for the Lynchburg College Choral Union, which is my big summer project (that I'm getting paid for, meaning..). I'm not working any real jobs this summer.
Euro 2008 is coming, meaning that another soccer fever is about to hit America for a month or two. While the fever won't be as intense as it was for the 2006 World Cup (or will be for the 2010 World Cup), it will still make me want to get out on the field and display my horrid soccer skills. That being said, if you are reading this right now and are interested in said soccer get-together, let me know, so that I'm aware of whether or not we have enough people to play.
It's been a while since a piece of news I've received has been fortunate and unfortunate at the same time, but Guitar Hero IV is coming out in the Fall. It's fortunate because, well, it's Guitar Hero becoming Rock Band (adding drums and vocals), and unfortunate for my bank account. Also, I may not be around the US to see the release, which is also quite unfortunate.
Anyway, that's just an update on what's up with me. Drop me a line at jkim887@gmail.com and let me know what's goin on with you! I like listening as much as I like talking. I think.
And as a final note, go pick up H.A.A.R.P., a CD and DVD by Muse, one of the greatest rock bands ever. It's a CD and DVD of their recent performance at Wembley Stadium, the first ever performance in Wembley to be sold out. It will rock your face off.
