The first five-week session is over... I'll definitely miss my kids. Just five more weeks of waking up at 6am and getting off of work at 7pm... I can do it.
I had a long talk with one of my students the other day. He was telling me about how he has no friends where he lives in Korea because he moved far away from the place where he grew up and all his friends live. Now he goes to school in the US, so he doesn't have friends in the new place his family moved to in Korea and his dad won't let him go out to play very much so he's always bored at home...He also studies at the academy from 8am-1pm and 2-6pm...(and it takes him an hour to get there) so he has to wake up at 6am and sleeps at 2am because he has to say up to do all the homework that all six of his teachers assign him for the next day. The kids here are hard-core...
On other news, I've gotten much better at text-messaging in Korean, how exciting!
Talk about embarassing... so my little 6-year old cousin usually brings her English homework to me to check it for her... and today she had Chinese homework, and she brought it to me to take a look at, and she asked me if it was correct... well I had no idea! haha.. my 6-year old cousin is tri-lingual already... definitely puts me to shame. :p
