spring break parte DEUX

Mar 09, 2009 22:07

The weather is still ridiculous.  Like the back of your head.

But I am determined to enjoy the break of printemps nonetheless.  At least the part until I go back to sunnyvale.

Friday we had that all-sophomore meeting thing that really should have only been an OWorks meeting because most of it was inapplicable to my life.  I AM HOLDING FIRM and going to continue majoring in performing arts, even though EVERY SINGLE SOPHOMORE appears to be going into OWorks.  I just don't want to write plays, dammit.  I WANT TO SING.  Then the Theatre History meeting was cancelled so I lounged about until going back to rehearse with Mel.  And then we performed at the lovely Neo Beatnik Coffee Raisbeck House and we were pretty awesome if I do say so myself.

Saturday, I spent the morning yelling at the weather from inside Starbucks with my fellow partners.  It was ineffective against the snow/rain/sleet/whatever the fuck the weather was doing.  And D'arcy and I got into a childish game of fighting and she gave me an indian burn, which was dumb.  And hurt.  I finally went grocery shopping, because I had literally only tortillas and salad dressing in my fridge (also ridiculous).  And then I was gloriously unproductive until Rocky.  Rocky was fun.  Rocky is always fun, so far, so it is redundant to announce it but I will anyway.

Due to the phenomenon known as "Daylight Savings Time" I got home at five even though I was only at the afterparty for about thirty minutes and I had work at 11:15.  This is the fun part.  I woke up at 7:30 because the sun was being annoying and shining, but I fell back asleep.  My alarm went off at 10:05, and I thought "Okay, I have another alarm in 15 minutes, I'll sleep till then and then get ready for work."  This was where I was mistaken.  At some point I sort of woke up and thought "Hmm, it feels like it's been a while, I wonder what time it is."  It was in fact, 11:05.  So I very very hurriedly got my ass up and dressed and got to work by 11:16.  I was obviously very tired, but so was the entire population of Seattle and no one appears to like daylight savings.

My cousin Paddy was in town but we weren't able to get together.  It's cool because I'll see him and everyone else Saturday at Gdad's 80th.  Sunday I cleaned my entire apartment because it was messy and then Mel came over and we ate ravioli and watched Youtube videos for about three hours (lots of Notre Dame de Paris).  Today I slept till noon, took posters off my walls, chilled with Caitlin and discussed our childhoods and books we had read and stupid stuff.  We went to QFC to buy paint and supplies because I'M PAINTING TOMORROW!!!!  I am tired of the green because it clashes with everything I own (really.  really clashes.)  The new color is very neutral, it's called Antique White and then I can decorate with posters and it will all look lovely.  Cause it seems like I am going to be here for an indefinite time, due to some SERIOUS LACK OF COMMUNICATION about which I am a little pissed but not as much as I could be due to the fact that I've gotten to the point where I WANT to live by myself and wouldn't want to live with her at all.

Then we made cornbread and watched Mamma Mia.  We put on kerchiefs which became Magical Kerchiefs of Imagination and so we pretended to be Norwegian girls in like 1500 cooking cornbread for a family banquet while our relatives were hunting antelope and reindeer.  It was awesome.  We want to play makebelieve games more often, especially outside when it gets warmer.  It will improve our acting abilities.  And it's just fun.

I am so psyched to paint.  I like to paint.  Sort of.

spring break, let's reconnect with our childhoods and, stupid weather
