Summary: Ever since a few months ago, ever since that happened, Yabu has stopped coming to work, at least everyone says so. Inoo doesn't believe what the others might say, and he doesn't remember what happened; he sees Yabu everywhere. As the days pass, a confused Inoo desperately tries to find out the truth behind the rumors. The sleuthing begins and Inoo slowly finds out a horrible secret that his mind has been hiding from him all along.

Bzzzzz! Inoo's hand immediately went to his pocket, fishing out his phone. He looked at the screen: Yabu.
"Hello?” Inoo’s throat felt dry.
“Inoo? It’s me, Yabu. I’m almost there. Just give me a couple more minutes.” He held his breath.
“Ok. I’ll see you in a couple of minutes then.” Inoo hung up and exhaled.
Yabu always had an effect on him. He made Inoo’s heart flutter; he made his insides jump around. But Yabu always made Inoo feel himself, naturally whole. Checking his phone briefly, he jogged over to the train station where Yabu will be arriving. He got there as the train began to pull in, sitting down in a nearby bench to steady his breath. Not a minute later, he felt a tap on his shoulder. Inoo turned and saw just the guy he was waiting for.
“Hey.”
Yabu laughed, then looked at Inoo with a questioning glance.
“Did you wait long? I’m sorry I came late. Even though-.”
Inoo interrupted him.
“I came just as the train was coming into the station. So it’s no big deal.”
“But I came late. We planned this a while ago.” Yabu insisted.
“At least you came. That’s all that matters. Let’s go.” Inoo got up and grabbed Yabu’s arm, gently yanking him out of the station and into the loud, busy streets of Shibuya.
Actually, Yabu and Inoo had planned a day for them over two weeks ago. Just them two; they turned down the rest of JUMP whenever asked to hang out, giving excuses that they already had plans and couldn’t change them. They wanted to spend time alone, so when they found out that they would both be off on a Saturday, they instantly knew what they were going to do. The last time they spent anytime alone was…who knows how many months long ago.
They walked away from the train station and strolled down the street, with no particular destination in mind. Their legs move aimlessly, the two chatted away about insignificant matters. They didn’t have a care in the world. They were oblivious to their surroundings, so unaware that even the paparazzi didn’t bother them.
Time seemed to fly past them. Seconds turned into minutes. Minutes turned into an hour. Time flew, counting down the moments that these two will spend forever.
Inoo’s hands were to his side and so were Yabu’s as they walked down the shop-filled avenue. They didn’t want anyone to know that they “were together.” Sure they had their private moments together but they kept it a secret. They even kept it from the rest of JUMP so it was a surprise to Yabu when Inoo suddenly holds onto his arm, showing signs of not letting go. Inoo, himself, was surprised. He normally wouldn’t do something so bold, but on this particular day, he felt that he needed to make the move. He didn’t know why, he just did.
Yabu stopped mid-sentence and looked at Inoo, who in turn smiled sheepishly. Yabu just chuckled.
‘How cute.’ Yabu thought to himself.
“Inoo-chan, are you hungry?” He let Inoo’s nickname slip out, but he didn’t take it back.
“Are you, Ko-chan?” He used the other’s nickname as well.
Yabu thought about it a little. He slowly nodded. Spotting a café, on the other side of the road, he raised his hand and pointed.
“Let’s eat there.” He said, but not alone. Inoo’s voice joined his. They looked at each other in shock, Inoo was pointing to the same café that Yabu was. They broke into fits of laughter, as they headed toward the café. The last laugh that they will ever share with the other. They reached the crosswalk and waited together. The signal for pedestrians turned into the figure of a walking man, indicating that Yabu and Inoo are safe to cross. Here their life together will fall apart. The happiness, shattered. And the other…
The moment Yabu and Inoo stepped off the pavement and on the asphalt they both heard a screech. Yabu turned and Inoo did the same. Within seconds, they became witnesses to a horrible event. The driver of a navy blue Corola somehow loses control of his car; he swerves and collides into a ruby red Yaris. Navy blue paint trades with the ruby red, the Yaris’ tires scream as the owner desperately tried to regain control of the vehicle. Inoo and Yabu can only gape as the red body of metal headed straight for another car. The owner of the red Yaris, fortunately, had fast reflexes, managed to turn sharply narrowly missing a few other cars as well. Sadly, when he made the turn, he crashed into a streetlight and the Yaris was totaled. The force of the Yaris’ impact was strong enough to loosen the foundation of the pole, causing the rod-like metal to teeter and become unstable. For a moment it seemed that it would be fine, but gravity won and the inevitable happened. The streetlight collapses and smashes right into an oncoming bus. Frightened, the bus driver accidentally veers the steering wheel and the bus loses control. The hazardous bus was heading toward none other than Yabu and Inoo.
Both boys were frozen on the spot, but Yabu was the first to recover, and he acted swiftly.
“Inoo!!! WATCH OUT!! GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!”
Inoo felt Yabu push him, getting him out of the rampaging bus’ way. Once his body contacted with the black asphalt, he banged his head, hard. He blinked a few times as stars danced around his eyes, but he suddenly lost consciousness, not knowing what had happened. The last thing his eyes saw before getting sucked into the darkness was the bus running berserk, proceeding dangerously toward Yabu...

A/N: This is a multi-fic based on the drabble of the same name. It sort of clears up some questions. :D I hope you like it. Sorry if it seems a bit rushed though.
