Airline nightmare

Here's how my horrible trip is going:

1) I get to the airport and have to pay $15 per bag to check them in. (This is nothing yet...)

2) I wait on my flight and it boards on time. There's overcast clouds.

3) I arrive in Charlotte, NC (connecting flight) and we walk about 1.2 miles from one end of the airport to the other end of the airport.

4) We have dinner and then go to our gate to find out our flight is delayed from 10PM to 1AM (3 hours!)

5) Around midnight they announce it's cancelled so we stand in line for the service desk for 1 hour.

6) The airline does not pay for hotel costs due to cancelled flights. We go look for our baggage but they say we can't claim it and it will arrive at the destination. I sit on my cell phone looking for a hotel for 30 minutes. I sit for another 30 minutes to get a hold of the airline to book my next flight. The next flight is at 9:30AM... now it's 1:45AM.

We're sitting on cold tile floor in a brightly lit area huddled around a power outlet trying to catch a few hours sleep before we have to go back through security to get on another flight. Hopefully this flight won't be delayed as well. The only consolation I have is that I have my computer and I have free internet. I'm just looking forward to a good night sleep at home in my own bed tomorrow.
