The week after graduation I attended a workshop on Digital Art History techniques. It was a blast from start to finish. The first day was full of demonstrations of software such as Omeka, R, 123D Catch/Meshmixer, and Sketchup. Then everyone worked on projects of their own choosing for a couple of days and the last day was show & tell. I didn't have a project in mind, but I wanted more experience with Sketchup so I worked on a couple of things. The first day I created a gallery space from a floor plan and then placed some art on the walls. My instructor was so good that the next day I was able to grab a floor plan and elevation for Donato Bramate's Tempietto off the web and start modeling. Of course once I was well into it I found much more complete plans and now I'll have to start all over but I learned a lot just by fooling around.
This week was fun, too. J flew in on Thursday. Friday we ran a few errands and then we took a
little break. The next day we woke up ridiculously early to get to Easton for the MS ride. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. It will come as no surprise that we were able to add to my chicken selfie collection while we were at it.
C&C&V were waiting for us to return so that we could have a gigantic cookout, so we did and we did and it was fabulous. Then J had to go back to her side of the country but we plan to visit her soon!
