Twenty-five: getting through the to-do list

I have to do a field study as part of this Masters program. Some people call it an internship. I signed up for the classroom part of it to do this upcoming semester and then I sent out a bunch of letters asking various types of libraries if they might have a spot for me. I had attended a workshop about finding internships wherein we were warned that it's not as easy as you might think to find someone who wants your free labor in exchange for mentoring and evaluation.

But it is! It's so easy: write some letters, put them in stamped envelopes, and let the USPS work their magic. I had four interviews lined up for before I have to leave on vacation, but I'm calling three of them back tomorrow to cancel because the project the guy at Goddard has for me is so perfect I had to say yes. This is going to be a great semester; going to school was an excellent idea, glad I had that option available.
