Bully for Bully!
Ordered a PS2 game last week, and it arrived Monday. I love it! Unfortunately, I don't need to be sitting that long at a stretch.
I have not been ignoring my LJ friends, though it is true I do not post here often these days. I have had loads of problems in the last six months and the demise of my Toyota truck has left me stranded as well as unemployed. Yet, things are not hopeless and I have good days even so. Despite daily battles with depressing circumstances, I manage to remain upbeat (for the most part).
[Thank you, Crystal Herben (a now deceased friend), for the wake-up call on vitamin B-12!!!!!! This simple vitamin has had really helpful effects on my mental stability- I am certain it's helping my brain stay healthy and loaded with raw materials for serotonin. (The lack of which has been linked to depression.) Yet, now we are hearing from scientists who claim no vitamin has any real effects. In my not-so humble opinion, this is UTTER CRAP! I cannot imagine the mind that could conceive of undoing decades of proof otherwise. It only increases my suspicions of political motivation.]
I cannot repair my own truck without a simple, though unfortunately metric, carriage bolt. It's amazing how badly a single part can wreck your plans. I cannot walk the 70 mile round trip to Macon to get a bolt, and none of the shops in my podunk town has one that could work. NAPA had the right size, but only in a smooth shank that would not work for what I need -a belt tensioner tightening bolt. This is the kind of day Doug Adamas must've had when he wrote that bit about "some people even decided that the trees were a bad idea, and tried to return to the oceans!"
For years, I've used my own gendankenexperiment to test people- myself most of all. If you had a magic button that when pressed would eliminate one thing from all human experience, would you press it? And what would you "delete?" Right now, I'm leaning towards "all technology past the OLD stone age!" And yes, I would- even if 200 neo-cavemen would mutilate me shortly thereafter!
