this is a short comment that does not criticize the show itself
I'm looking forward to another week of fanart of Barnaby (who just behaved like a hysterical woman, good thing he got over it man, it was getting embarrassing) getting hugged and headpatted by Kotetsu (who's only responsible for some manly bitch-slapping to keep him in line and is even gracious enough to forgive and comfort him afterwards).
Because Barnaby is always the cause. Everything would be better if he just got over his issues. And it feels so good when the one you're disappointed with doesn't explain or apologize, but patronizingly behaves like the situation doesn't concern them at all. Especially when you're the sort of person who gets vindictive pleasure from lashing out when hurt just to see you're not the only one getting hurt.
--wait Bunny was in the middle of a 24-hour-long mental breakdown and Kotetsu's stupidity finally caught up with him so he'd really need to do some self-reflection right about, uh, several months ago? That's crazy talk, what show were you watching?
And I think MY problem is that my posting threshold usually only gets crossed when I'm feeling uncomfortable. Positive thinking, positive thinking.
eta: JUST SOME OF THE THINGS THAT I LOVED:
-Kotetsu not being eloquent enough to respond to Bunny's words in kind, so he lapses to physical violence even though that's not the kind of person he is, AT ALL. Amazing characterization all over this show gosh
-Kotetsu getting hurt. Show advertises them as a pair, but so far it's been pretty one-sided from Barnaby's part, Kotetsu's the same amount of friendly with everyone. But I doubt those words would hurt as much if they came from someone else. Heck, I doubt he'd stay for someone else. I HOPE WE'LL SEE MORE OF THIS SOON
-Barnaby getting hurt. There was speculation that he'd take the news in stride, even if he heard them accidentally, but that wouldn't have been consistent with his earlier characterization at all. Also, lashing out. Loved it in episode 12, loved it here.
-Kotetsu goofing around without realizing that it's hurting the situation, because he does that. He thinks it helps, but mostly he has a hard time approaching things any other way -- I love how all the characters have realistic flaws in this show. Kotetsu especially, because he is so dangerously close to being the sort of perfectly buddy-buddy main character who can do no wrong that I would hate, but instead he's just amazing aaaaaa
-Barnaby being on the edge the whole damn time. I doubt he recovered from last evening even once, and it showed in his conduct. He should have just eaten that fried rice and gone to bed. He was crying or on the verge of tears the whole time.
-Basically the whole first half of the episode was my dream come true alskfjalfkjaljfsa that's EXACTLY how I wanted it to go
Also this is now even more relevant than back then. I'd find it hilarious if I weren't on the verge of tears myself.
