Imagination Loss

Mar 18, 2011 01:23

A symptom of old age is the loss of imagining...
About five hundred and two balloons
Floating in a sky of blue
And they're all the colors you want

A sure good sign you're experiencing this degeneration is...
Passing by quarter horses because you're too big or tired or
Paying attention to your grocery lists
And not making cakes in shapes like...
Mountains or anything else
You can't imagine

It's the feeling you get when you've misplaced your keys
Your sunglasses
Just before you're about to go to the beach

But then you remembered that it was
Actually in the last place you would look
Either you're wearing it on your head
Or it's in the pocket of an old coat

And you realize it's not so bad anymore
