IT'S BRITNEY BITCH!

Apr 11, 2009 15:23

Alright, SO. Britney fucking rocked my world!!! But let's start at the beginning. Stacey came over, we packed up our stuff and headed for Tacoma WA at around 2pm on Thursday. Made a few stops, got in around 5pm. The concert was at 7:30. We were all about just winging the whole trip. Not really planning anything and just hoping for the best. We knew we could stay with her cousin Andrea in Seattle if we needed to. We found The Dome, where the concert was going to be and that got me soooo excited. We drove into downtown Tacoma and it was surpsingly cute! I'd never been there but it had a nice laid back but hip feel to it. Very cool architecture and it was pretty big with a lot going on. I was impressed. So we picked this place called The Rock Wood brewery and it ended up being a super cool and fun joint. It was all rock and roll themed with flames and electric guitars everywhere. We shared a bucket of alcohol. Yeah, a big bucket. It had 5 different kinds of rum in it. I had also just drank a red bull so I was feeling pretty pumped and excited and quite buzzed. Then we decided to go meet up with Kaci and Vanessa at their hotel room. We had time to kill and wanted to drink a little of the vodka we had brought with us. So we meet up over there, took a few shots and before we knew it, it was time to jump onto the hotel shuttle to the Tacoma Dome!!! I was so excited! We got in the big bus and it was full of other Britney fans. We talked with them about how nice it is to be surrounded by people who can understand an undying love for Britney Spears. It was actually very comforting and self-assuring. We got there and the line was super long but it was sunny and we were drunk so we didn't mind.

So random though, these protesters were protesting the show! There were about 10 hardcore christians that I saw spread out with huge signs just yelling at us all saying we're sinners and that we're supporting a sinful performance and we're all going to hell. Ok. For one, don't you have better things to do with your life than to protest a Britney Spears show? Seriously. With all the violence and crime and war that's happening in this world, THIS is your biggest priority? Secondly, there's honestly nothing ungodly about what Britney is doing. Yes she's risque or suggestive, but it's not like she's telling the audience to go shoot up heroin and kill people. She's just all "I'm sexy and fun and let's put on a super entertaining show". And thirdly, do they really expect people to convert? Did one person, just ONE listen to what they were saying, or screaming rather, and think, ya know what? They're right, these thousands of people are all going to hell, Britney is ungodly, let's get out of here. I seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt it. That is not spirituality in the least and those people really bother me.

Anyway. We made it inside and our seats were really good! The stage was set up just as I heard it would be. It was a definite three ring circus. One large ring in the middle and two smaller rings on opposite sides. I was on one of the sides of a smaller ring. I'm used to pop concerts taking a while to start, they're trying to build anticipation, you get a little anxious, but none of that happened here. It was like we got there, relaxed for about 10 minutes then BAM! Pussycat Dolls are in my face and are blowing me away! They were so good! I was really curious how they would be, I thought maybe the other girls wouldn't be singing as much and they would sound bad but NO NO NO. They all sang, they all had amazing voices, they all could dance WAY better than I had ever known and they were just incredibly entertaining. All of their outfits were super sparkly and awesome, the main girl Nicole sounded amazing the entire time and they sang all the songs I loved, "Dontcha wish your boyfriend was hot like me..." along with "Beep", "Buttons", "I don't need a man", "Stick wit U", "I Hate This Part" and then they finished with "When I Grow Up". They sang a couple songs I didn't know but they definitely sang all the ones I did know. Of all the concerts I've been to, and I've been to lots of all different kinds, this was the only concert where every single person was standing up and every single person was dancing so freakin' hard like they were in a club. Seriously, there were 25,000 people there and everyone was just PUMPED.

Between the PCD and Britney they had all these amazing circus performers come out and entertain while they were setting up for Brit. And these performers weren't your average circus performers. Or maybe they were, but they were super talented and incredibly fun to watch. They were throwing each other up so high up and landing on this tiny plank. This one lady could do hula hoops really well and she had like 30 going at the same time while throwing some up and catching them on a toe, there were jugglers, midgets, unicycles, people who could wind their body up a rope and spin down really fast, acrobats, contortionists, you name it and they had it. Then before you knew it, it got dark, then you hear the beginning of the song "Circus", the place goes absolutely fucking crazy, and then down from the ceiling which is like over 100 feet above the stage, Britney lowers down in a circus outfit. The energy of everyone freaking out in the auditorium was so amazing. Her dancers were so hot, Britney looked amazing, and in my personal opinion, she was totally singing. It sounded like Britney singing live into a microphone. I think she used to lipsync a lot more when her dances were really intense but they're not really anymore. So the show was amazing. She did a ton of songs, had a ton of costume changes, and she was totally on. I had read reviews of her concert beforehand and a lot of people were disappointed in her performance. People said she wasn't that into it and she doesn't dance like she used to. Well maybe I caught her on a good night but I was incredibly impressed with her. And trust me, I know Britney Spears. I can tell when she cares and when she doesn't. And she was super into it, had a ton of attitude and was giving it her all. And yeah, her dances weren't all crazy and technical like before, but she's 27 with two kids. She's not 19 anymore. She's not the same person at all and I love who she is now in the present. She's still just as good as a performer. So anyway, the concert was above and beyond what I was expecting and I was expecting quite a bit. It's so hard to comprehend when you're such a big fan of someone who is so incredibly famous and then you are seeing her in person. Just to stand there and think, oh my God, that's her right there, that is Britney Spears, right there. I watch her constantly, I've followed her for years, through all the ups and downs, through the pregnancies, the head shaving, people saying she's going to die and never come back, Kfed, everything, and here she is on tour, dancing and looking amazing. It was fucking awesome.

After the concert we went back to the hotel and stayed with Kaci and Vanessa, drank a little, talked about it, and went to bed. Needless to say I was exhausted yesterday but it was all worth it, now for the pictures to document the entire day! Most pictures are mine, some are from her website but even those are taken from the night she was in Tacoma, so they're the same performance I saw. Oh, and on Britney's Twitter, which is actually her, she said,

"Great show tonight! The crowd was amazing! I get to see my boys! -Britney"

Yep, I was in that crowd, and we were amazing. lol.

bucket 'o alcohol!

crazy protester

super excited!!! Notice the other protester in the back. lol.

saw a rainbow rightbefore I went inside. As if God was saying, "Go forth Michael...enjoy Britney Spears and all her glory!!!"

The Circus!!!

We felt the need to announce how we felt about her.

Pic of the venue.

Pussycat Dolls!

PCD!

This was right when I first saw her while she lowered down from above. I could have almost cried.

She rocks.

She had a Bollywood/Indian theme when she sang "Me Against the Music"

Then she got onto a a huge umbrella and was raised up high and sang "Everytime"

This was Toxic!!! So hot!!

This was for "Do Somethin" which I was surprised she did since it's not that well known, but it worked really well.

They had these saw looking these that would spark.

This was for "I'm A Slave 4U" My jaw dropped when the fire started.

She seriously would disappear at one place on the stage then suddenly reappear within seconds in a totally different outfit and this time she suddenly had short black hair. This was for "Get Naked" which is a song I LOVE.

I don't remember what song this was for but it was so awesome and this picture is amazing. My friend Billy took it. I stole it from his facebook.

So hot.

I think this was "Breathe On Me". It was a slow sexy song. A swing made of two dudes! What?!

A cage dance for "Piece of Me"

This is from the song "Boys" At one point she made all the guys get down on the ground and do push ups.

"Boys" again.

This is from "If U Seek Amy" Everyone was going nuts for this song.

Sexy pole dance.

Then she came back for the encore and did "Womanizer"

With crazy fireworks at the end.

LOVED it. She obviously did a ton more, but I was too preoccupied in watching.

I saw so many people dressed this way. People really went all out.

I was standing right behind this guy for a while. He made it onto her official website. Damn it! I should have made a tshirt like I was going to! The other side of his head said "more".
