For a moment, I was surprised to see mentioning of Kooluk, but then I realized whose entry I had just seen.

I am relieved pleased to see you are alive, Helmut.

As shrewd and concise as ever, I see.

But...I saw your ship go down. How did you survive?

Your guess is as good as mine. I don't recall, to be perfectly honest. I awoke along the coastline here... Materia Beach, if I remember correctly.

(OOC: In other words: PLOTHOLE! XD)

I see...and you are not returning to Kooluk? They would welcome you back, you know.

I have failed the emperor by not seeing through Graham Cray's ploys; the disasters that he orchestrated could have easily been stopped had I not followed the Governor so blindly. I will remain here to find myself discipline myself for my erroneous behavior.

You were following orders. We all were. It's What we were supposed to do, wasn't it? It was my disobedience that bought me my exile. You mean to say that it was your obedience that bought yours?

If you had spent as much time around Cray as I had, you would have noticed that he was ... not well in the head. Despite that, I did not take his words with a grain of salt until it was too late.

... At which point, I decided it was for the best to die with some dignity and try to "stop" those that were fleeing El-Eal.

Perhaps. Still, I do not see how you would be blamed for your actions. You were loyal to Kooluk until your supposed "end".

You know...that I was there, right?

You have good point. ... I wonder now if Cray worked with the Patriarchal Faction; there was a reason for his madness, though it escapes me even now.

I received word of your ... defection in the Razril report. I assumed the report was wrong and you had been killed ... but I soon believed it after Colton was captured. Somehow, I knew you had a hand in your father's survival.

You would be more likely to know than I. I haven't tried to contact my father since he left, otherwise I would ask him.

He would have rather died than rot as a prisoner. They wouldn't give him the dignity of dying honorably...so of course I had a hand in his escape. I'm sure the allied forces don't thank me for that, either.

I will have to send a courier to Colton, then. I really am glad relieved comforted to know you two are alive and well.

It sounds like you have made enemies on both sides now. I cannot begin to express my sympathy at your position.

I believe that you and I may be seeing rather a lot of each other here. I'm going to be teaching as well. If you do send a note to him...will you let me know? I'd like to write to him.

I've made my choices, and now I have to live with them. I don't regret what I've done...but it does make things difficult. Here, at least, I won't have such issues. I hope.

Then you will be here in the townhouses too? Once you are settled in, perhaps we can speak in person. Perhaps find a place to drink and catch up.

I will certainly vouch for you ever wish to return to Kooluk. I see no reason why Colton would not defend you, as well. And if you are having problems here, I will have your back. From the looks of it, you have Sigurd's support as well.

Yes. I was assigned to 26T, and I just finished moving in. Well...I'm not unpacked. But my things are all here. I would like that.

I do not think it would be wise for me to try to return just yet. Perhaps after things settle a bit more, but...not yet. I will not jeopardize my father or you for something so trivial. As for problems here...I think I will be able to manage. Thank you.
