I've done this before, but it was a while ago. And, hey, why not give Honest Abe another turn in the Oval Office? That might be the dirtiest line to ever appear in a Simpsons episode

1. Funny! When I was very, very little and going to Catholic mass on Sundays, "We Three Kings" and "Let My People Go" were my faves. I wasn't allowed to listen to the radio, but my Aunt did, and I can remember singing to some Diana Ross song and everyone laughing at me because they found a toddler singing with all the breathiness of MzD hilarious. Which it probably was.
Pinball Number Count was my FAVE! Added link - Sweeeeeet!
We must be close in age.
Went to look at your userinfo again and though we have only two *matching* 'interests' they the and comms/RSS feeds we have are very similar.
2. I don't think I've ever seen you post about "Math-Rock" but my memory has been abysmal. What is it about the Mathyness? I have a form of numbers dyslexia and loathe Maths because of it, so I'd like to understand a bit better.
3. Very glad you answered all the different versions I'd asked about in this question.
Gah, tattoo artist! When I lived in northern C.A. i'd looked into that and your description of the pay/grunt work made me giggle in recognition.
Building houses would be an awesome skill!
Brewmaster...When I lived in Atlanta, it was with a bunch of guys that made beer. Never had done that before and it was fun even if not very drinkable. Some of the beer turned out like champagne. Do you cook/brew now?
4. Where's your other blog?
Hell yes about the LJ crap. My other LJ is linked to some of the anti-ad comms and I see you are there as well. The abuse team, privacy problems and LJ using spyware firms is a fooking Drag. I'm looking into WordPad, though not much, if any, of what I write is worthy of that much effort. The friends list is the thing though. I don't think any other site has anything similar yet, except for creepy ad-driven LJ clones. Bleh.
5. And smell's such a big part of tasting. And with no sense of touch, I'd probably wind up, y'know, resting my hands on a hot stove or something.
*Exactly* what I've said before.
It's my favorite question to ask people because it's hard :)
Interesting answers.
I don't have any links or backup to this right now, but being without a sense of touch could drive you insane. It makes me think about Autistic people and what's-his-name the lead character in the book Perfume (though he was lacking in the personal-scent area). And an experiment with baby monkeys that had mothers made of wire. Which I simply call, "The Wire Monkey Mothers Experiment." The baby monkeys went sort of mad and still climbed onto the wire mothers for love, warmth and soothing. But since you are more deeply interested in food, it makes sense to choose smell, except for its link to taste. Though, you acknowledge that.
I think people picking touch don't realize how much of an impact it has on them every second of the day. The Wire Monkey Mother Experiment, for example, and how it showed physical touch impacts mental growth. Plus, way down to simple things like - You can get bedsores because your skin doesn't send the message that you need to turn a little to get off the spot you've been laying on for too long.
I'll settle on touch and smell, for right now anyway.

If it changes, lemme know.
Anyway, good show :)
