Three Makes a Family?

I have a cat.

Ember and I decided, over the course of the past month, that it would be nice to have a kitty around. I spend most of my day in the house - on the computer, cooking, cleaning, recording, etc - and it will be nice to have someone to keep me company.

I drove all the way out to a trailer park in Mineral, VA to pick it up. Number 20. A nice lady who takes in strays and kittens to find homes for them.

His trip back to Richmond was terrifying, as car rides tend to be for cats. He didn't urinate or vomit, but he was foaming at the mouth the whole time. Not frothing, foaming.

I never really considered whether or not cats might have salivary glands. It makes sense that they do, I suppose. This foam just kept accumulating until he had a long, bubbly beard swinging from his chin. By the end of the trip, there was cat saliva all over everything. I was convinced that he had dehydrated himself.

Once home, I let him hide under the bed for an hour or so. By the end of the night, he was cuddling with me on the bed, purring. As you can see.
