A pastry day

I've filled my pastry quota for the week, thanks to Bakery Sate. I've been doing decent in cutting back on my pastries and cakes -- not as disciplined I have been in January, but not bad.

But today blew that all up. I had:

Matcha mochi loaf - this was just OK. The crust was too hard, although the inside was soft and chewy. It had a more flour-like consistency than I would have expected from mochi. It tasted good, great flavour, but I'll pass on this next time and try something else.

Salted egg yolk custard croissant - Sate's croissants are as good as people say they are, with just the right about of crunch on the outside and buttery flakiness inside. The salted egg yolk custard went thru the entire length of the croissant, and was a generous amount. It didn't have the salty hit I was expecting, but good overall. I'd over this again.

Nutella banana croissant bread pudding - I only had a bite of this today (I am saving this for tomorrow so I'm not being a complete pig), but it was EXCELLENT. The best of the bunch so far. A little crunch on the outside, chewy on the inside, and just the right amount of sweet.
