Neon Trees
I have a new favorite band! Neon Trees.
I think most people have heard of them. The Provo, Utah band has opened for The Killers during part of their tour and made the rounds of morning and late-night TV shows. But me being me, iPod stuck on The Faint and Franz Ferdinand (I know, so 2002, right?), Neon Trees is new. I first learned of them Saturday when they opened for Maroon 5 at GM Place. I liked them right off the bat. Catchy songs with crazy hooks, and very 80's sounding, which I am a sucker for.
Other pluses: Their cover of Human League's Don't You Want Me. And lead singer Tyler Glenn's vocals and flamboyance and tippy-toe moves on stage. And I love, love, love that they have a female drummer, Elaine Bradley, who was apparently pounding on those drums until she was seven months pregnant.
