Asian Ladies
So today I went and got my acrylic nails filled in at a local Korean nail salon. Ok, so all nail salons are Korean, but whatever. I'm no bigot. I just really wish that the nice Asian lady doing my nails would stop chattering to her friends in god knows what language. I just know she's talking about me. I know it. She's probably saying something like "look at these cuticles, and her upkeep is just terrible." Since I already know that she's talking about me, what is the point of her continuing to keep it a secret? I'd rather her just say it in English--hey, your nails suck. And your face isn't much better. At least then we wouldn't have the confusion over just what she is telling her Korean friends. I'm reminded of that Seinfeld episode where Elaine brings George's dad (who speaks Korean) to her nail salon. That is what I need. A translator. Damn you, Amanda Yang, why can't you be a good Asian girl and speak chingchow or whatever the hell it is. If I cared enough about diversifying my world, I'd learn that shit myself, but, alas, I do not give a fuck about diversifying my world. I'd rather everyone just insult me in English so I can kick ass and take long, confusing, unpronouncable names later.
