allright. caribbien time.

first two or three days out i pretty much just sat around and relaxed. i played a lot of guitar, did a little drinking, and got to know verious people on the boat. it really is amazing how music brings people together.

third night on the boat i was sitting around playing my geettar and drinkin my redstripe, and i met these two girls... melissa and casey. we started talking, obvi they wanted me to play some songs. let me explain the way this generally works. EVERY SINGLE GIRL out there, all of them, will express at least some interest in guitar, even if they don't care about it at all. So they started off expressing some polite curiosity, asking me to play some of the covers i know... which i did. Eventually as they got more into it, the girl mellissa asked me if i had any origonals. I had just finished this one song (called "sweat), that i've been working on and i kind of wanted some feedback on it, so i played it for them. By the end of the song she was sitting with her mouth open starring at me like i was a slice of sterloin steak. In other words, both girls we're very receptive. We had officially crossed the line from polite interest to general enjoyment. It was kind of sweet... i never really get unbiased feedback on my shit. It's generally Pfeffy or Jen or one of my friends or something, and i mean it's not like i don't trust them to be honest with me, but they're more inclined to like stuff i write since we're friends. So yea, the girls sent they're friend down to get they're digital camcorder, and I spent the next 3 hours sitting around playing every single song idea i've ever had for them. Towards the end, the one girl melissa got me to play the sweat song for her again so she could video tape it. She said she wants documentation for "when i'm a rockstar". Im currently waiting for the email with the video to arive, cuz she said she would send it to me.

i dont really remember what i did the next day... but the next night is when i met, for lack of a better name, the foursome from hell. Actually, thats a bad generalization, because one of them ended up being cool as shit, but generalizations just don't work if you try to make exclusions. So yea, i met these 4 girls from Penn state at the club type thing. I'm trying to think abuot how to be vague and ambiguous about this, but i can't really explain the story doing so. So long story short, 3 of the girls were smuts, one of them was cool as shit, who pretty much became my best friend on the cruise.

-This started off as a day by day type things, but its slowly turning into me recounting over all the people i meet and all the stories and whatnot. Just wanted to clarify that.-

One of the nights towards the middle of the cruise i was sitting around playing the geetar (funny how every story starts with that), killing time until i started drinking, and this girl Sarah came up and started talking to me. I sat around talking with her for a long long time... shes from southern maryland and shes some crazy kickboxing champion type girl. I've never really given girls credit on being able to take down guys, maybe its some deep founded male chauvenism i can't eradicate.... but we did a little play fighting, and i can honestly say this is the one and only girl ive ever meet who i can confidently say would be able to beat me and pretty much all of my male friends. So I chilled with the girl all through the night until the sun rose, and then we both went back to our respective cabins and i never saw her again. It kind of sucks, cuz she was a cool ass girl, i would've liked to keep in touch with her.

The last night of the cruise there was a kareokee thing that i went too with a couple people. It was the final round, so it was band kareokee.... meaning the people sang with the band instead of with a tape or something. The last song of the night came around, and the women called my name. It seems as if the girl Merissa had requested me to play the sweat song. So i walked on up there, they handed me a guitar, and i played my song with a full band. SWEETEST THING EVER. Pfeffy needs to learn how to play drum set stat. Again, i got it on video, so anyone who wants to watch it feel free to ask me.

Anyways, aside from the verious ports we went too, those were the highlights of the trip. I hate the fact that I'm back in Annapolis. Everything seemed so simple when i was at sea. At the very least, I'm glad i got away... it helped me clear my mind. And it gave me some perspective on how i feel about some things. It sucks that I'm back in Annapolis, but I'm alot happier then i was when i left.

P.S. Anyone who is interested, i recorded my first EP last night... aka a 5 song demo cd.
