Mikhail Shulman, well-known Russian blogger and civic activist, was severely beaten last night in the courtyard of his own apartment block. His family had already been threatened and brutalized, his sister beaten up, his car torched, all in connection with his struggle aganst corporate raids, but this is by far the most serious and brutal attack yet. Just a couple of days ago, his second child, a son, was born; the parents haven't even had time to decide on the name (his daughter is two years old). Mikhail is in the IC room of a Moscow hospital; his condition is serious but stable.
