Ah, summer is upon us. I should be more excited, but... the knowledge that (barring any summer visits) I won't be seeing my girlfriend for three months rather tinges my enjoyment of the moment. In spite of this downer of a fact, though, we still managed to have an excellent time last night. I was actually in possession of a car for a change, so after picking up some Jimmy Johns, we went to see Madagascar and partake in the sweet, sweet luxury of air conditioning. The movie was surprisingly funny; "lemur tree" has now become part of my lexicon. ^_^ The penguins were perhaps my favorite... "Smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave." After that ended, we headed back to her room to enjoy our last bit of time together. Unfortunately, it was cut slightly short by an untimely allergy attack. -_- However, it was only a small blemish on our fun for the evening. I'm already looking forward to fall quarter...
On a side note, the half-hour drive back to my house was quite interesting. Although the thunderstorms missed K's campus while I was there, on the way home I ran smack into them. I was treated to quite a magnificent show of sheet lighting, with the occasional fork lancing out to strike some terrestrial target. It was around 2:30 in the morning, I was tired and happy from my date, and I had some pleasantly atmospheric music playing... taken together, the effect was quite entrancing. I like storms. ^_^
OK, now to get to work on finishing my Final Paper for Japanese Literature. Stupid 10pt font... *grumble*
