Zaku woke up a little from his moment of just spacing out, realizing he hadn't even bothered to actually look through his notes. "Umm... the assignment that was due today... I'm really stuck." He frantically found the appropriate page and found his assignment. There wasn't much progress done on it... but at least he had his name written on it and numbered a '1' for the first question. However, that was all that was there... Thinking Karin had noticed, he said "Yeah... I didn't get this chapter at all..." he sighed.

Karin picked up her stuff and scooted over closer to Zaku so she can look at his stuff, seeing where he was lost. "All right, hold on a minute," she told him, opening her notebook and looking for that part of the notes. She tried to help him, little by little, explaining as much as she knew. It was a little challenging for the both of them at times, but Karin had thought that it couldn't hurt them, and it was helping reinforce her own knowledge on the subject by teaching him. Eventually, they decided that calculus needed to get out of their heads for a while. Karin tossed her calculus notes away with a sigh and a grin, "Well, glad that's over. What can we work on now? Or do you need a break yet?"

Zaku's poor brain was numbed from all the calculus. "I vote break. That stuff is really hard... but I think I sorta get it now..." He flopped back on the bed and closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. "You're way smarter than me, seriously... I don't know how it comes so easily to you."

Karin watched him with a smile, "I figured you might want a break. I need to rest my hand a bit anyways," she flexed her right hand as it had cramped from writing some of the proofs over and over to try and explain it. When he complimented her, she replied, "I don't really know myself, because I'm not all that into math. But I suppose I like it better because you can work with it, unlike languages and social sciences. Probably because it works well with science, I guess." She shrugged, and looked down to him as he lay back on the bed. Her eyes focused on him, watching his chest slowly move up and down with every breath he took and admiring how relaxed he was. The last time she saw him lying down, he wasn't as relaxed as he was now, and she was fascinated without actually being aware of it.
