Neji frowned at his list. It was short and only held the names of a few select people he was getting small gifts for. Lee and Naruto were the people he’d originally planned on buying for. Lee because he was his best friend, and Naruto because he’d received an unexpected batch of cookies that were still relatively untouched and felt that in order to be polite, he’d give something back. Of course, both of them lived with someone and it’d be considered rude not to get their roommates something as well. Thus, Sasuke and Gaara’s names found their way onto his already small list.

Neji examined the bracelet on his wrist- made of simple white and blue yarn and gifted to him from Lee. White and blue yarn- Neji wondered if Lee had taken his fascination with birds to heart and twined the colours because they reflected the sky. Another meaning could be ‘heaven’- his father’s death. A ‘friendship’ bracelet he’d called it. He was unsure the need for something so trivial when they’d been friends for most of their lives, but he wore it anyway, both to please Lee and because he liked the idea. He’d ‘fashioned’ one for Lee as well out of a few different shades of green yarn he’d found. He twirled it about his fingers now and set it down once he glanced back at the piece of paper.

Lee, he’d made the bracelet, and was planning on finding another stuffed animal for him. He’d given one to his friend many years ago and he’d been extremely pleased that the gift had made him happy. No doubt the thing was worn by now- he’d need a new one.

Naruto was easy. Ramen. He knew that the blonde had probably received ramen from most of his friends already, but it was a safe gift, and Neji was sure he wouldn’t be adverse to having more. He’d buy a few different flavours as well since he was unsure of his preferred, though most likely he didn’t discriminate.

Gaara. Neji frowned. He didn’t know the teen very well- only that Temari and Kankuro were his ‘loving’ siblings that had basically kicked him out when the youngest had expressed a concern over Temari’s choice in being a model for one Sai. Words were said, he was told to get out and Lee had taken him in in a heartbeat. It’d been awhile since Neji’d seen Lee so riled up. Apparently though, the red-head was sick. Maybe he’d just pick up a few things for that. No Nyquil though. He’d heard about that incident.

Sasuke was another one he didn’t know too well. They got along alright, but weren’t exactly ‘friends’. Somehow he thought this would change in the future. Apparently Gaara had told Lee who told him that Sasuke enjoyed Starbucks. A small gift card was in order, and he really hoped that the information was correct. He had no idea what else to get him.

Neji scratched his ideas down, folded that small piece of paper in his pocket as he stood. A glance at the clock confirmed it was only 5:30 and he had work to do. The nearest bus was just around the corner and would arrive in roughly 15 minutes. It’d take him 5 to walk there. He was a day late for White Day, maybe, but he’d been unable to do much all week. Neji grabbed his coat and walked downstairs, keen on getting everything done.
