It wasn’t that Lee had anything to prove, being involved in so many activities and clubs in the school. Of course not! He just enjoyed the connection it gave him to other students and the youthful pumped, amazing feeling of accomplishment when he met club goals and helped out. Still, he stared mournfully down at the ten-pound bag of bird seed and sighed to himself, wondering just how he’d been convinced to be the one to go feed the pigeons for the aviary club and clean the cage today

This caused the red head to turn his head, sharply, and look over his shoulder and stare at the approaching dark haired boy. If it were Gaara, he would recognize this as the student who was in some of his classes. They had met, all but briefly, in a chat room over the weekend. This however was not Gaara, and Shukaku had never seen the boy.

"Oh really." Shukaku said dryly before slamming his fist against the aviary a few times before moving so his back was against the mesh, one hand sliding down and grasping at the aviary's handle. "Well aren't you the fuckin' know all say all?"

He lent forward, hand tugging on the handle and slowly began to pull the door open. "So how bouts instead I just let all these fucking rats fly off then? Liberate the shit outta em?"

"You cannot! These pidgeons have not been properly trained yet, they are not homing pidgeons and it would be quite dangerous for them in the wild!" Lee flustered and flailed his hands a bit, and rushed forward right into the path of true and utter danger.

One gloved hand slammed into the door to keep it firmly in the frame, and Lee winced in apology at the startled cooing and flurry of feathers inside at the sudden new noise.

"They are not flying rats," Lee scolded as his brows drew down sternly over snapping dark eyes. "Pidgeons are noble birds and also the property of the aviary club, so please do not try to do that again!"

"Know what I hate?" Shukaku asked, his voice low, hissing and quite venomous as he lent up to look at Lee face to face. There was a height difference between the two, Gaara was at least a head shorter then Lee, but Shukaku was never one to feel intimidated by taller people.

If anything, people taller then him pissed him off more then people his own height.

Shukaku's hand went up, grabbed Lee's collar and yanked him down, closer. "I fuckin' hate people telling me what I can and can't do." he answered his own question. Just who did this freak think he was? He had no fucking right to tell Shukaku what he was allowed to do.

He suddenly smiled in a way that would normally worry his siblings, "I know. You can entertain me instead. How 'bout it?" Shukaku tilted his head before he grinned wider. "Make up for the lack of bird blood being shed. I like the idea, don't you?"

Lee's eyes narrowed as he slowly started to clue in, at least in part, on what was happening. Gaara was trying to harm the birds and his behavior was fast becoming dangerous to the birds and potentially to others. Gai-sensei had told him to only use such aggressive behavior in school if it was to protect the way of light, friendship, and in self-defense. This was looking to swift become one of those acceptable situations.

"Fine," he agreed as he stepped back just a fraction and cracked his knuckles again, loosening out his shoulders with a quick bounce or two, then beckoned.

"Come play with me then Gaara. I will do what I must to protect the aviary!"
