Shikamaru lied down in the spot he'd claimed since he was a kid and looked into the sky and watched the clouds. The weather was perfect, it was sunny, but not too sunny. And the white cumulus clouds hung over head to provide shade as they wandered past and there was a wonderful breeze... the perfect day. He sighed in contentment. There was nothing

Shikamaru sighed as Naruto sat down also not leaving Shikamaru to much room for himself.
"I just felt a rain drop Shikamaru."
Shikamaru rolled his eyes, "You're a terrible liar. Dirt shows well on pink." He said with a sly smirk then to Naruto, "So besides training what have you been up to Naruto?" He asked interested only slightly but in need of something to talk about. He was bored again... wanted to sleep but... he was sure if he went home his mother would only scold him.

"H-hey!" She would have stayed quiet and let the boys talk as she stretched back out but what he said-that was affending!

He continued to list things off, on his fingers, pointing to each finger as he did though he was supposed to be listing off a certain number of things.

Shikamaru smirked and shook his head slightly, typical Naruto. He hadn't been one for a social life, neither had he actually. He just got a lot of bullshit missions that have no particular importance. He didn't mind them of course since they were all easy, but even the lazy and uninterested Chuunin needed some sort of excitment in his life. "Sooo, basically nothing then?" He wasn't berating him, merley stating.

She didn't bother to stretch first and just fell onto her back slowly, placing an arm over her eyes. She'd just lay here and wait till the conversation got more interesting; Naruto had already told her about he was doing those two years anyway.
"It was so bright and sunny too..."
She murmured it to herself, her arm shifted so she could look at the clouds.
It was going to rain.
That was the only thought to keep her from falling asleep, plus the clouds just kept getting darker! Or maybe she was already dreaming.

"Hey, that cloud kinda looks like... uh.. " he trailed off, trying to think of something. All that came to mind, though, was 'a big grey blob'. So much for Shikamaru's theory of only girls looking at clouds for shapes.

He watched him fall back... no room left for him. How cruel. "Hey, that cloud kinda looks like... uh.. " Shikamaru looked at Naruto's 'thinking' face as he tried to think of a shape. Was Naruto really a man there? Still a boy he supposed. "Guess I'll leave then..."

"Where are you going lazy idiot? There's plenty of room." She'd moved over from 'his' spot so he DID have more room and she was small enough so that the room to the side was still enough for her to lay out. Not like he'd won or anything she was just being nice- please girls 'never' listened to boys.

He rolled over, away from them, and onto his stomach. He pointed a finger after Shikamaru. "Look, even more space now... dont make me chase you! I'll do it!"

"Heyyy, get back here! Look, even more space now... dont make me chase you! I'll do it!"
Shikamaru felt his leg being grabbed and almost fell over. He looked at them both suspicously, was there something he was missing? He figured Naruto would jump at the chance to be alone with Sakura. And he really didn't think Sakura would move for him, he gave a tiered and still suspicious glance at the too a little sweat drop down his face mixing in confusion. He sighed, "Mendoukse..." And sat back down now with plenty of room next to the two and lied back also. He wondered if they were planning something...

"You got your spot back. Aren't you happy yet?" He was 'just' such a pain.

Shikamaru gave a small smirk, "You're sort of demanding aren't you? And I haven't gotten back, you two are still here." He was teasing of course, but sometimes his sarcasm was too good for his own good.
"Thanks."

Starting to sit up and spit out some well contained words she paused at the 'thanks and settled down again letting out a soft breath and she staring up at the clouds. "Yeah, sure." She probably didn't want him to make a big deal out of it anyway.

Then turning away he looked up at the clouds as the sun left again. Some new clouds rolled in, these ones were lower and larger. And the winds had changed. "Oy Sakura, might get your wish. Looks like a bad storms rolling in." He said sitting up, could he not relax for even a moment? Next thing you know he'd get pinned with a mission! The icing on the cake that would be.

She heard some kind of mutter her mind finally excepting it wasn't going to rain-but she diliked the rain anyway so no loss there. Her body wanted her to rest, and there under the newly dark formed clouds she started to fall asleep without a word to either of the two.

Shikamaru looked over at her from where he was sitting a clear view now as she fell asleep. He sighed as he looked up at the storm clouds, the wind was beginning to pick up also. Probably a thundertorm, with possible lightening.
No sooner as he thought that there was a small plop on the ground as the first rain drop fell, and then another, and another. Soon rain was falling getting harder by the second. Luckily there was a small roof over their heads. Shikamaru stood up looking at Sakura who was apparently out. Then he looked over to Naruto, "Oy Naruto, we're going to my house since it's the closest from here." He didn't want to say, and I don't trust you with Sakura because you're a perv but he'd figured Naruto would just accept it.
He slung Sakura over his back so he could move a little easier as he hopped off without waiting for Naruto. Naruto was pretty fast anyway, hopefully his mother wouldn't mind he brought unexpected visitors.
