"No," Shikamaru was quick to interject, having already turned to face the girl at this point, "you're not interrupting anything." Had the two of them appeared together? Either way, if he'd let even a breath pass before answering he knew Ino would have piped in to probably send the girl away. Ino seemed to take a sick, sadistic pleasure in following him around just to be aggrivating.

In a flash Shikamaru's eyes took in everything about this kunoichi that one could call distinct, processing it in his mind and storing it for later. She seemed about the same age as he and Ino, but he didn't recognize her. She had a very feral look to her. Sharp teeth. Her wild look reminded him of Kiba in a way; did the Inuzuka clan have one he wasn't aware of? Either way, it didn't matter now. He'd see about getting the girl's name before she left, and after that he didn't particularly care.

"Most of Konoha's forest belongs to any who live in Konoha, but this area specifically belongs to the Nara clan. ... ... Leave with as much as you came with, and hurt nothing in the process. If you can follow that, you are welcome to stay. My name is Nara Shikamaru." And with that he gave Moriko a polite, albeit lazy nod, slipping his hands into his pockets.

Immediately after he'd finished his introduction he was looking to Ino, knowing his blond friend would likely burst if he went another second without answering her question. "I've been out here the whole time, working." Though, now that his work was done he was free to relax. And it was likely neither of them would take into account the work he'd spent all morning doing, see him just relaxing and label him as lazy. How... troublesome. "What were you looking for me for?"
