Konoha - Equivalent to Tuesday afternoon Fandom time
Konoha at last
Before arriving in Konoha, Arashi had made sure to get himself and Wade some hats and outfits to hide themselves, and he, Jiraiya and Wade were on their way.
The gates of the village were open and waiting for all visitors to pass though them and the guards beyond. Though since they were traveling with Jiraiya one of the legendary sannin there shouldn't be any problem.
No problem what so ever, especially since the guards didn't seem to be at their posts.
It was a fun hat. That was the only reason why Deadpool wasn't randomly singing songs from The Wizard of Oz.
(Does that make me Toto?)
And gosh those were big gates. He ooo-ed appreciatively.
Jiraiya frowned at the lack of guards. "Are they gone again?" He muttered, looking around for the two who should be there. "I have to find Tweedledee and Tweedledum and tell them off. Anybody could be sneaking in here."
"Like us, sensei," Arashi smirked and crossed his arms. "Like we're trying to do? Besides they're probably in the back gate. Saw it was you with a few monks and left it alone.." Or so he could hope.
Deadpool peered up at the top of the gate. "Is everything here so overcompensating?"
Arashi nodded. "At times."
He was still afraid of Wade's reaction to the Hokage monument.
There suddenly did seem to be the sound of something falling in the backroom of the guard station and loud curses before two ninja in gray stumbled into the front area.
"Oh, Jiraiya-sama it's you," the one with longer brown hair said moving some of it out of his face. "Hokage-sama wanted to see you the moment you returned." They both eyed Wade and Arashi skepticly, as suddenly several ninja appeared around him. "No offense Jiraiya-sama, but these are Tsunade-sama's orders. Your... companions may go with you."
"You know," Jiraiya said, momentarily ignoring the surrounding ninja. "If you don't have enough free time to do that at home, you might want to ask Tsunade for more time off."
Jiraiya eyed his excort, then sighed. "I really can't get away from that woman, can I? Come on, let's get this over with. If you're coming?"
"If there's a giant phallic statue in the town I am so out of here," Deadpool told Arashi, watching the ninjas with the same kind of interest a child would have toward a person in one of those creepy costumes at an amusement park.
"Is this chick the one with the-" He made a hand motions of ginormous breasts. "-you know?"
"Yes, she is." Arashi titled down his hat overh is face and keeping his voice down as he spoke. "And don't worry, there isn't... at least not the last time I was here."
"Good to know." Deadpool grinned cheerfully at their escorts, bouncing a little. "Are you going to break into a song about sprucing us up before we meet the wizard?"
One of the escorting ninja raised an eyebrow at Wade and spat out the toothpick he'd been chewing on. "No," he said flatly.
The small group was lead into the center of Konoha, attracting alot of attention as they went.
A lot of attention. A blond ball of energy dashed up to Jiraiya as they headed through town to the Hokage's office. "Hey! Hey! Ero-sennin, are you in trouble??"
Jiraiya frowned at Naruto, shaking his head. "Probably. I have to go see the old woman."
"You are in trouble!" The boy bounced on the balls of his feet. "Man, I don't envy you! Who're the other people?" Naruto squinted up at Arashi and Wade. "Are they in trouble too?" he asked doubtfully.
Arashi tensed and moved slighly behind Wade, pulling the hat down more to hide his face as they continued to walk.
Deadpool made a point to look around at their escorts, as if they were the ones he was talking about. "Hey now, that's not nice to say. It's not their fault they didn't guard that giant honking bit of making up for inadequacies very well. For shame little one, for shame."
Arashi glowered slightly at Jiraiya, but stopped hiding behind Wade and just hung his head. He did watch Naruto go... the boy was getting big.
"Let's just go," he said quietly.
The ninja lead the group to the main government building in the heart of the village and up to the Hokage's office. Letting them in after a small knock, the group of ninja retreated quickly knowing the wraith of their Hokage.
The said person seemed to be a young, calm blonde woman with a buxom rack on her chest. "Jiraiya! You better not be trying to sneak through here again-" She stopped and blinked at the two with him. "Who the hell are they!?"
Deadpool tilted his head, trying to get a better look at her chest. "Wow, you weren't kidding."
Jiraiya facepalmed, hearing Deadpool. He had already questioned the other man's sanity, and now knew Deadpool had none to speak of. "Uh, well, just a couple of guys from the bar. We were headed for the onsen, but your guards were pretty insistant."
There was a large twitch in her forehead as a vien seemed to pop out as she heard Wade, but calmly ignored him.
"You found monks... in a bar and now your taking them to the onsen?" She tapped the pencil on her desk. "How stupid do you think I am? What sort of trouble are you bringing into my village!?!"
Deadpool looked over his shoulder at Arashi. Great. Human shield.
"I take offense at that! I'm not trouble!" Pause. "Most of the time." Pause. "As long as you don't ask any time traveling Christ figures."
Arashi smacked himself in the forehead and moved out from behind Wade and bowed deeply to her, speaking softly. "We aren't going to cause any harm to your village."
Yes, Arashi was frightened of her.. and with good reason!
"Nobody was worried about you," Jiraiya assured him, patting Arashi on the head...or at least on the hat. "I'd be more worried about the other guy. Don't know him very well. But what did you need, Tsunade, if it's so important?"

"Nothing honestly." Meaning she wasn't going to say anything in front of the people she didn't know. "Wherever you go trouble follows. It's been like that for as long as I've known you... take those two for example. Maybe I should have Kakashi arrest them just to save the trouble of hunting them down later."
Yes, she was teasing, but Jiraiya and his 'friends' were hiding something so she wasn't going to let them know that.
"Tsunade-ba-san! When did you get to be so suspicious?!" Arashi shouted in frustration, smacking himself again and causing the hat to fall off.
"Uh oh.."
"..." Jiraiya sighed, facepalming. "You're so much like your son," he muttered. "You don't know how to be incognito."
Deadpool adjusted his awesome hat, watching the whole scene like it was a wonderful movie with ninjas. "I thought he did pretty well up until that flailing bit."
There would have been a lovely spit take if Tsunade had been drinking something. As it was, she was just sitting there looking as if she'd seen a ghost.
Well, in a sense she had. "Arashi...?"
Arashi hung his head and nodded, scratching his neck nervously. "Hello Tsunade, it's been a long time. You look just like how I remembered you."
"Just older," Jiraiya added under his breath.
Deadpool might the self preservation instincts of a suicidal lemming that just stopped taking it's medication and got dumped by it's girlfriend and fired from it's job because of some other lemming who screwed them out of a big deal, but even he knew this was time to back away from the old man.
(And we shall mourn the loss of a great author...)
Tsunade smiled sweetly and crooked a finger at Jiraiya, motioning him closer as if she didn't hear what he had said.
Jiraiya backed away slowly. "Well, if you didn't need me, I'm going to onsen. Good to see you, Tsunade!"
"I don't think so old man!" Tsunade shouted and vaulted her desk, beating him to the door. "Who are you calling old?! And how long have you known that Arashi was alive!?!"
"I've only known he was alive for...a couple months," Jiraiya admitted. "But I didn't get to see him, so it could have just been the frogs pulling a prank."
Arashi was backing away slowly from the two old people before it got violent. He knew it would from previous experiences.
"Wade... leaving now would probably be really good."
"But it's just getting good! Ten bucks says she kicks his ass."
It would be an easy bet. Tsunade punched the wall, making a large hole and sending cracks up and down it. "You've known for that long and never said anything!?!"
"No! Because you'd react like this!" Jiraiya flailed a little. "Arashi wanted it kept secret! So don't get all pissed off at me you crazy old woman!"
"Now! Leaving now would be good!" Arashi said quickly and in a panic as he shoved Wade towards the window, once Tsunade turned her attention towards him.
"But it's fun! She's like a blond Shulkie! Or come to think of it, a bustier Miss Marvel, only with a less revealing costume." Frowning, Deadpool looked her up and down. "Have you aver thought of trying a swimsuit and a scarf dealie?" He asked Tsunade as he was pushed toward the window.
Tsunade paused distracted for a moment by Deadpool. "Only at the beach," She smirked and took the oppurtunity to punch Jiraiya in the face and then turn back to Arashi and Wade and going back to sit calmly at her desk. "Can someone please explain this to me?"
Jiraiya yelped, clutching at his now bleeding nose. "Arashi!" He pointed at Arashi, keeping one hand to try to stop the bleeding. "Explain!"
"Uhh.. right. Well as you probably guessed. I didn't die." Arashi sighed and moved to sit on one of the window sills. "I almost died, but Gamabunta took me away to help me recover..."
He paused again and ran a hand through his hair, knowing that all of this was going to sound really lame. "It took me years to recover and by the time I did.... I... things had changed a lot by the time I did. The war was over, everyone was at peace. It didn't seam right to come back then and mess everything up."
Yeah, he completely left out the fact that he'd been afraid to. Arashi had burned all his bridges when he had gone out to face the Kyuubi, never expecting to live through the fight.
"See?" Jiraiya said, muffled. "Not my fault." He glared at Tsunade, grumbling more under his breath. "Violent old woman."
"So who is this then?" She nodded at Wade. "And why are you back now?"
"Name's DEADPOOL," Deadpool replied and then blinked. "Hey! The fun fonts are back! Next will be onomonopias!"
"Arashi's husband," Jiraiya added helpfully. "Are you proud of your boy? He married a psycho."
"Him? Arashi married him?" She glanced between Arashi and Wade. Looking the merc up and down. "I hate to agree with you Jiraiya, but you're right, he doesn't seem sane..." She sighed and shook her head.
"I suppose if they're happy," Tsunade shrugged. "How did this all happen?"
"Don't ask..." Arashi sighed and shook his head.
Deadpool's eye twitched. They weren't married, damn it!
"Sanity is so very subjective. One man's fourth wall breakage is another's slow descent into madness."
"Right, sure, whatever," Tsunade sighed and ignored most of what Wade said and looked over at Arashi. "I suggest keeping a low profile unless you want utter chaos." In a way she did understand Arashi decision. "Or you're ready to come back and be Hokage?"
"No, you're welcome to the job Tsunade-ba-san," he grinned and shook his head. "I've got a teaching job that I'm quite happy with.
Deadpool let out a breath he hadn't actually been aware he'd been holding. Huh.
(When did Arashi going away get to be something squishie bad feeling inside?)
"It'd cause a lot of trouble if he came back," Jiraiya agreed. "But at least he wouldn't gamble away the village's money," he added quietly. Speaking normally again, he continued, "It's probably better for Arashi to stay inconspicuous. There'd be an uproar for people to find out he's actually still alive."
Tsunade nodded in agreement. "Agreed, we're dealing with enough prodigal sons returning home from the dead," she frowned slightly and ignored Arashi's raised eyebrow of curiousity. "You're lucky you came while Kakashi and Naruto were in the village Arashi, there's been a lot going on. And you're going to see both of them while you're here. I will insure you do if you try to act like your sensei and weedle out of it!"
"He will," Jiraiya replied before Arashi could. "He already dodged Naruto once."
Arashi blushed. "Yeah, and if I hadn't, all of the people in the streets would have known who I was and the whole plan of keeping a low profile would have been ruined and the village would be in chaos," he pointed out.
Tsunade smirked proudly. "Now that is the Forth Hokage that we all know." She leaned back into her chair. "Settle down at the onsen. You've probably had to travel a fair distance, and we can talk more later."
