A Quick Summary (SPOILERS WITHIN!) part 1 murinae April 11 2011, 03:39:33 UTC
Sure! I had to look around for a bit, before I remembered the name of the primary scanners. But it is out there. *nod nod nod*

But anyway, it opens out with a little demon looking up at the special school that Gash and Co. now attend. He's apparently very poor and scavenging for food to feed him and his big sister. And yup, you know he'll play a part later. XD

Meanwhile, Gash is studying under Earth, and goofing off by randomly casting spells. Earth's not pleased please because A) Gash can fry him, and B) he can't counter because Gash is holding this wand that nullifies any spells around him in a 50 meter vicinity. This wand is given to the king as a protective instrument; only the demon holding the wand (normally the king) can cast spells.

We find out that Gash's life as king isn't very fun. For one thing, Earth now addresses him by his title, which he doesn't like. Another thing is school life is a bit alienating. The teacher is always apologizing when Gash has a question, most of the students live in fear of Zeon coming after them if they do anything weird to Gash, and Gash can't play with Tio, Umagon, or Koruru after school because he has kingship classes. Even playing with Vulcan isn't the same because they don't have candy boxes in the Makkai. Gash has to make a pseudo-Vulcan out of a weird shaped gourd! XD

Fed up with this, Gash decides to run off (with a nice wink to the old series ... he flies off with his cloak, but he's not wearing anything underneath, so all the other demons are running around going "GAAAH! THE KING IS NEKKKIIIID!")

Gash meets up with the demon kid in the first panel. It turns out that his name is Mumu. Mumu is again scavenging for food, and of course Gash (concealing his identity as the king) goes and makes friends by giving Mumu the other half of his uneaten sandwich. They then go to Mumu's box-hut and Gash gets to meet Mumu's sister.

Or Not.

Instead, his big sister really a doll (it makes sense in context).

Gash is puzzled and feels bad. He promises to come back with more food later. As he leaves, there this hulking shadow in the background. dundundun!

When Gash comes the next day, Mumu is less than welcoming, and runs up and snatches the spell-negating wand that Gash has been carrying around. (One wonders what Earth is doing, since Gash is skipping his classes. XD)

Mumu runs and gives it to this big hulking demon. When Gash asks why, Mumu's backstory comes out. It's kinda tragically weird, as only Raiku-sensei really ever gets.

Long story short, Mumu and his (real) sister never had enough food, but his sister never gave up hope that one day the king would come and give them food, but well ... then she died, leaving Mumu with her doll, which he pretends is really her.

Um. Yeah. :( Sad AND creepy.

Turns out, big Hulking Demon (named Giza) promised he'd give Mumu money if he got Gash's wand, and Mumu was going to use the money to move into a big house and buy food for his sister. T__T

Of course, it's at this point Giza turns on them both, blasting them with attacks and telling Mumu that A) no money B) he was only using him.

Gash, of course, objects, but unfortunately, he can't protect himself because Giza now has the wand, and of course, Gash can't use any spells. Despite this though, Gash doesn't give up or even stop when Giza turns on Mumu and talks trash about friendship.

Yeah, if you know the manga by now, you know that well Gash gets all angry, complete with sparkly eyes, and he defends Mumu with his own body.

To make things worse, Giza now is wanting to kill Gash because he wants to be the next king (um, did no one tell him that the kingship doesn't work that way? XD I think the next in line is Brago ... but anyways). So, here we are at the climax, Giza is preparing to fire off his biggest spell, which Gash is defenseless against ...
