You reek of alcohol. Your lips taste like cigarettes. You jab me with your solid fists as you toss in your sleep. You grumble incoherently as you press your face against my chest.
And then you smile. “Ruki.”
You remind me where I stand, and I bask in your warmth, silently enjoying the blessed simplicity of having you by my side.
