I just climbed onto the water tower with some binoculars. I haven't been up there during the day for years--and this is the first time I've ever taken optics with me. I just happened to see them on the counter as I was leaving--with no particular destination in mind--so, I grabbed them...and off I went...and there I ended up. It's funny how things look different when you can actually see them for what they really are...as opposed to admiring them from afar in the dark. Well, funny, and in this case, mildly depressing as well. Some things just aren't as beautiful when you look at them magnified so clearly.
