It's been awhile...
Bittersweet memories pass my eyes
and for a moment it feels as though I may die
Broken dreams keep me from my unconscious slumber
reoccurring nightmares engulf me
The sun shines no more on my face
clouds cover far past the horizon
Reaching for that last beacon of faith
Hope lingers held fast by a thread
Reminiscences resurrecting through my head
raining out what is left of my thoughts
crackling light only a mirage of miracles
continuously pounds my beating heart
Only raw fragments of shattered feelings survive
so I wait for the pain to subside
A long of hours, days, months and years
overstayed of unwanted welcome
I search the stars that cascade the night
as the waves serve their final blows of afternoon's departure
Suddenly in the distance a figure grows near
Hallucinations have gotten the better of me I fear
As you approach my uncertainty surpasses me
I am perplexed and awed by your majesty
Your smile recessed the the evil residing within me
In your eyes spans an ocean of paradise
Clear waters of soft tides creep upon the sand
I look up to find your inviting hand
Butterflies flutter in my stomach
followed by a chill that runs down my back
I clutch my hand away
I begin to feel the trickling of the rain
warmth surrounds my every being
as heaven's angel speaks my only wish
I tremble within his holy grasp
unworthy of his very presence
He looks at me and I start to relax
as a foreign sensation overtakes me
The crest begins to form upright
the stars appear and shine as never before
Angelic sound passes through the lips
I flutter my wings, all evil is dismissed
I am engulfed in happiness in his mist
as we fly away like birds undisturbed
by the winds whistling call
we mount over the horizon over the blazing sun
No more worries of today
or even of tomorrow
just bright new beginnings of each day
and of the wonders of the 'morrow
