don't worry unless you have to...
I find it highly ironic that the day after I wrote that last entry I learned that my position at the University actually ended May 21st. I learned this when I opened my email on the morning of the 21st to read "just a friendly reminder that your appointment ends today, May 21st, good luck in all that you do!" excuse me?!? a FRIENDLY REMINDER?!? Apparently my boss was confused on when the 6 month term ended. So after freaking out for most of that day I decided it wasn't worth freaking out over. I took Friday as an official day off, slept in, made breakfast, went boating with Chris at Gross Reservoir and then went to a party in Denver to celebrate the fact that one of my Americorps friends, Mike, was in town with Lena. We had quite the awesome time and I met some new friends. Saturday Chris and I went out for breakfast and checked out the Boulder Creek festival. That evening was Brian's bachelor party. That was definitely one of the best nights out on Pearl in a while. We started at Connor's, made the requisite trip to Nitro, and ended up at Catacombs, drunken making out/swinging in the rain and all. Sunday I drove to Elizabeth to have a BBQ with the family and my mom loaded me up with a whole bunch more of my stuff that she found. So it was kind of like christmas lol. Then Sunday night Chris and Nick and I went out, which we haven't done just the three of us in a while. It was a random fun time as well, full of moments. I got to make breakfast again this morning and be generally lazy most of the day. Tomorrow I want to be very productive. I have to bake/frost a cake and prepare icing for my cake decorating class, I have to pick up a prescription, finish cleaning my apartment, apply for unemployment, and possibly go in to a temp agency to see how they work. Plus I'm going to be checking out craigslist etc for job postings. whew! that's actually quite a bit to pack into a day lol. Wednesday Emily and I have plans to go hiking and Thursday my mom is coming up to take me to lunch. I think she's really worried that I'm going to freak out hardcore about losing my job so suddenly and through no fault of my own. But with the way the pay schedule is set up I still get a full paycheck next week and then almost a half of one two weeks later. So I'll be freaking out in about a month lol. But hopefully whatever work I find doesn't make me wait 3 weeks for a paycheck like the University and then there will be no freaking out. I'm pretty excited about a new job, I just hope I find it quick.
