An indepth look at the suckiness that is the Summer 2010 anime lineup.

Jul 25, 2010 23:28

Because I feel strangely motivated. But if that's the case, why am I not putting more effort into my summer reading...?
But whatever!
Detailed summaries can be found at: www.thatanimeblog.com/index.php/2010/05/t-h-a-t-summer-2010-anime-preview/

And off we go!

Shukufuku no Campanella: It says it's based off of an eroge, which already makes me not want to play it. But then, ef ~ a tale of memories was based off of a eroge as well, but that was awesome. But I don't see any groundbreaking potential in this, so I'm giving it a pass.

Shiki: It sounded very interesting...until it said vampires. Then I was turned off somewhat. But it seems a heck of a lot more interesting than some of the other stuff mentioned. So I might try this after finishing some other stuff. Plus, the art seems good.

Digimon: Xros Wars: What happened to the visual style of the 2nd and 3rd seasons...? SIGH. I'm too old to watch Digimon anymore anyway, so pass. Gosh darn it, it's making me nostalgic for the first Digimon movie (which was actually directed by Mamoru Hosoda, so it doesn't actually suck, you guys ^_~)

Amagami SS.: After watching Kimi Kiss, I really don't think I can watch something like that again. Kimi Kiss took up so much of my patience, XD. But if this series gets good reviews, I might consider watching it.

Sengoku Basara 2: I really don't like anime set in feudal Japan, and I didn't watch the first season. So pass.

Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin: I have friends who are watching this and say it's weird/interesting, so I might try it. The plot summary DOES sound quite good. So hm. Maybe...

The Legend of the Legendary Heroes: That, is a title of win.

...

If you actually believe that I said that sincerely, you REALLY don't know me well enough.
I won't be watching this...

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi: I actually watched the first episode of this because patamon was talking about it. It's OKAY...but I really can't watch too much anime like this. Yes, I am fussy. Although I can see myself watching it for something to do. But I really can't STAND the male lead...UGH, why do people write such unoriginal characters...? At least the character designs are somewhat good.

Seitokai Yakuindomo: The plot summary makes me not want to watch it already. SIGH. But then it seems like some of the commentators on the site are saying that the 4koma manga was good. Hm. Well, they're probably guys, so I don't think I can trust them with my anime tastes...LOL

Sekirei  ~Pure Engagement~: Again, plot summary makes me not want to watch it. Didn't watch the first season either. So pass.

Nurarihyon no Mago: I was actually planning on reading the manga version of this, but never got around to it. But then, I never have patience for action anime. So I don't think I'll be watching too much of this, but if screenshots of it look nice enough, I might give it a shot.

Asobi ni Iku yo!: Hm...now WHERE have I seen this set up before, I wonder? Definite pass. Can't stand this stuff.

Kuroshitsuji 2: I'm already watching this...and I'm already behind. XD. This series is good though, I throughly enjoyed the first season (I'm something of a Gothic Lolita enthusiast, so I like Victorian things, mmkay?) But with Daisuke Ono, Maaya Sakamoto and Nana Mizuki (Not to mention Emiri Katou!) in this, you really can't go wrong! ^_^

Tono to Issho: The art is making my eyes bleed. So pass.

Strike Witches 2: Based on the picture ALONE, pass.

Gakuen Mokushiroku: High School of the Dead: It's made by Madhouse. Which has made lots of good stuff. But then the summary is turning me off... Guess I'm not watching it. '_'

Mitsudomoe: I saw the young children and the word "ecchi" and immediately thought "PASS".

Osaka Hamlet: This series sounds really interesting, but I just can't handle the art style. I would definitely consider trying it if it got good reviews though.

Sock Monkey Loves You: '_'

...

I don't even know what to say about this.

.hack//Link: I LOVED .hack//SIGN, but I've been pretty out of touch with the series as of late. I never got around to the newer stuff, sadly. But it seems like it's crossing over the previous series as well, which might be enough to catch my interest. Hm. But I don't know enough about Haseo. Well, maybe this is a good opportunity to read the .Hack manga, LOL

What, I'm done already? Wow...
Hm, it seems as though they didn't mention OVAs (or are they called OADs now? I don't know anymore...)
But perhaps, it seems, that I am experiencing what is known as "anime burnout". XD

I'm still gonna watch K-ON! though. Eventually...XD
