On JLPT and Japanese language stuff

I was researching on the internet a few months ago and got this crazy notion that JLPT would not be held in Vancouver anymore. At the time, I was literally wigging out, because if it were true, I'd have to go all the way to Toronto to take the test. Even if I don't use ever use Japanese when I''m an adult, it's still a goal of mine. Thank God I found out that it's still going on.

Anyway, turns out the test is not held at SFU or UBC like I thought it would be, but at...Capilano University. (www.capilanou.ca/programs/languages/japanese/Japanese-Language-Proficiency-Test--JLPT-.html)

...

So yeah.

BTW, I was watching Spice and Wolf yesterday and thought, "how do the fansubbers know what Horo is saying?" Because her way of speaking is supposedly "archaic"...or something. She does end her sentences is an odd way. I've never seen any sites that teach this sort of thing. Or Osaka-ben. Or maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

And then I realized, if I don't learn this, I'll never be able to understand Sketches from the Life of Sakamoto Ryoma! (Kashige's only show as Top Star...I think). Instead of anime, Takarazuka is my motivation for learning spoken Japanese. Visual novels and manga are my motivation for Kanji ^_~

Or something like that
