Something I just wanted to get off my chest.
It's now July 29th.
Although it might be too late for Barack Obama to do anything more about the debt ceiling problem, I must say that I am incredibly disappointed of the way the Republicans have conducted themselves.
Their actions have done nothing to improve the lives of the American people. By choosing to leave tax incentives to the rich and large corporations intact, they have essentially conveyed their true political stance: "Screw the middle class, we have money", my slight modification of the famous YuGiOh Abridged quote.
In any case.
Taxing the rich is not rocket science. It is the only sensible and practical thing to do when your country has a national debt of over a trillion dollars. The Bush tax cuts are a luxury your overextended country can no longer afford, and the sooner the Republican caucus realises this, the sooner I'll be able to stop worrying.

Maybe it'd take a crisis of this magnitude to get Canadian voters to be less apathetic and be more politically aware. Not that we'd let it get that far. I hope.
