My last band concert.

My last band concert has come and gone. It went REALLY well. REALLY REALLY well. We just blended and we were balanced and awesome and in tune, and it was amazing and wonderful.

Here's my breakdown:

Marching Band:
WE GOT LIGHT MY FIRE CORRECT. In the snares, anyway. Everything else went really well, except when we were heading up to the gym, my harness twisted really weirdly and my drum and harness almost fell off of me. It was really WEIRD. O_o
Everything was good, but my dressing was kinda...meh. Hehe.

Junior Band:
I don't know what's wrong with kids these days. If the band in MY generation had pulled that shit, we'd be in deep trouble.
There was a boy who brought a sweater into the theatre. Now, this wouldn't be so bad IF HE WASN'T WEARING JEANS AND A POLO SHIRT. T____________________T
There were a TON of guys wearing polo shirts and there was this one guy who had a T-shirt WITH A FREAKING LOGO.

DDDDDDDD:<
There were girls wearing sneakers, even....
The clarinet section's posture was atrocious.
Sigh. After all that (and their blend was terrible), I simply couldn't enjoy the performance. Not to mention their popsy piece (The Incredibles) was killing my ears.

Intermediate Band.
HELLO! Compared to Junior, this was like, NIGHT AND DAY.
Their sound was actually listenable. The were tuning (at times), they had balance, it was wonderful <3 Love, love, love
They won gold at MusicFest Canada for a reason. Way to go and good job~ ^^

Senior Band:
For some reason, their march started REALLY badly. It's like there was no tone. I don't know if it's the gym's acoustics, but it was terrible. Their other pieces were good though.
Although it's interesting to say that I had played TWO of their pieces in their program before LOL (Evensong, which I played in Grade 10, and They Came Sailing, which I played on our Alberta tour and on Music Monday).
But good job to them. Although it seems like they earned gold with this performance, I heard that there was a lot of flailing about behind the scenes, LOLXD.

Wind Ensemble:
That's me~~! ^_^
Pieces:
Second Suite in F by Gustav Holst. We did really well today. Better than at festival, in my opinion. Maybe it's because we have to concentrate so much more in the gym because of the crappy acoustics, but it turned out REALLY well, no tempo abnormalities. ^^

Sonata in A Minor by Georg Phillipp Telemann
So, so good~~~~ ^_^ Our oboe soloist is epic. So fun, and we got lots of applause.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Fun, fun fun. Got lots of applause and excitement from the audience (especially the other band kids). Overall, well done but some tempo issues in one part...

And yeah! Wind Ensemble got a standing ovation from a few parents, which made me very happy. ^^
FYI Wind Ensemble plays at a first year university level! Although it's a lot of work.....

It's sad that this is my last band concert. Hopefully I'll be able to join a band when I'm an adult and continue to play, be it percussion or clarinet, or maybe even something else!

It's been a fun ride. Although I'm slightly sad, I ended my band career with no regrets, so I'm very content.
Oh wait. I do have one regret.

WE NEVER DID ANY GERSHWIN. T________________________________T

That's all! I swear I'm done! :D
