My first classical composition.
www.youtube.com/watch I did this using Logic 8, the famous pro-standard audio sequencing program that I totally want for myself but is freakishly expensive and I generally hate Apple products except for Logic and the iPod Touch BUT YEAH.
I studied theory up to RCM Preliminary Rudiments. I have never studied harmony in my life, except for intervals and I completely forgot most of everything I learned.
Hell, I took a year of piano when I was six and I can barely read bass clef anymore.
But about SWEAT.
I learned more about Logic during SWEAT than I did in six months of digital sound. Sad? VERY.
Let me just say that Vancouver Art Institute is a very, very nice place, and the fact that they don't have Logic 9 is very understandable. I mean, Logic CDs cost around $400-$500 apiece. And the classroom I studied in was state-of-the-art as it was.
God, the midi controllers put my class to SHAME.
But yeah. In SWEAT, my composition was oddly well received. Like, this one guy said, "I could totally see this in a Ford commercial!"
Wow.
Good thing the instructor reminded me to use reverb, otherwise this would have sounded really artificial. LOL.
