What? I'm talking about Aya Hirano AGAIN?

OK, so...apparently, Aya-chan is still doing seiyuu work. To an extent.
I mean, she's still in Kimi ni Todoke. And apparently...
She's going to be in Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy.

...

Goddammit, I wish I had a PSP. RAWR.

Anyway, I was reading a bit more about the whole "situation", so to speak. And I really can't blame her for how things are progressing.
Okay, I totally blame her for the "dating more than one man at one time" thing that I heard about. That was totally her fault, and I'm still kinda raising my eyebrows over that little tidbit (not that I have the right to judge other people's lifestyles, but still. Really?) On that note, I honestly don't care less if she dates older men or not. Otaku are just paranoid and crazy.

But moving on.

I can have a better grasp of why Aya's taking her current course than I did when I totally spazzed out with my "WTF" reaction.
After reflecting on the overall reaction of the fanbase after all the controversy, I realized that if this is how her fans are going to react, she should just walk away. It isn't worth it.

I've read a bunch of interviews of her discussing the characters she plays, and she puts a LOT of thought into the inner motivations of her characters, and how they think and feel. That is precisely what makes her the wonderful seiyuu she was (and still is) today. Not because she can do a bunch of weird voices (although she was freakishly talented as a child). But because she's intelligent, and knows what sort of emotions to portray to bring the characters she voices to life.

If you look at the sorts of roles she's been playing lately, things don't look too bad, but...
She was in Queen's Blade. I can't even imagine how painful that must have been.

So it's possible she wants to leave anime to do something more...interesting. I mean, she's been lucky enough to play a bunch of wonderful roles. Misa in Death Note, Chizuko in Ni Juu Mensou no Musume, Reira in NANA...not to mention obvious choices Konata and Haruhi.

But you can only live that idol lifestyle for so long. And with THOSE fans? Something had to give eventually. I mean, if she ever got married, the crazy 2ch otaku would probably have reacted in the same way. Especially if she got a shotgun marriage like Miyano Mamoru (LOL).

So yeah. Best of luck, Aya-chan. Although I don't understand why you'd want to be a TV talent, and how that's NOT putting on a fake facade, I hope you don't experience too much misery.

And most of all, I hope that the people on Sankaku Complex stop calling you fat.

To end, a quote.

Quote from zotaku:
All of these romantic experiences helped support me, and I don’t want to continue this shallow and unrealistic façade.

I don’t want to write songs about some fantasy love. I should be able to show the real me.

Stop making Tweets telling me to “die!” or saying you hate me.

And after we just made a lifeline to each other… Even one as powerful as me is reeling under this.

So, from here on I hope you wish me well!
