I`m having trouble sleeping, so I`m going to write about my day. I "woke up" at around 11 this morning. I barely slept the night before. Stupid jet-lag or something! We decided to go to Luzern today and caught the 12:10 train. It took about an hour to get there. The train ride would have been plesant, but there was a man near us playing music really loudly, first rock, then Macy Gray, and yelling at his dog in a mix of German and English. Really annoying. The dog was handsome though.
In Luzern I bought postcards (finally), and we went to two cafes. We also did a bit of shopping, though I didn`t buy anything. We did a bit of sightseeing as well. We saw a statue of a lion carved into the side of a small clif to honor the Swiss mercenaries who aided King Louis XIV in the French Revolution and had their heads snicked off for it.
We took the train back at 4:35. We got back to Zurich a bit after 5pm. After an extensive bit of coaching on the train, I took the bus home by myself while Barbara went to work. I napped until Barbara got home around 10. She made pasta and salad for dinner. It was very good. We then packed for our three day trip and I took a shower. We`re up at 6:45 am tomorrow. eeeew.
I`ve been meaning to make a few observations about Zurich and keep forgetting. The first is that there is a lot of grafiti everywhere. The second is that buildings are very interestingly colored. There will be a row of buldings the following colors: Pink, Yellow, Lime green, Sky ble, and mango. They also like painted on decorations that look like intricate stone work around windows and corners.
Tomorrow, we`re going to take a bus trip into Italy. I`ll write the route down once I know it. Damn, still not sleepy. Maybe I can try reading or something. Doesn`t my body know it has to be awake and functional in 6 hours? Rar!
(Insert a lot of missing home and Topher here).
