TM Prompt 331: Talk about something you used to love
I've only been alive for about five years, so there really shouldn't be too much embarrassing in my past. I mean, Ma can cringe over fashion choices and haircuts from thirty or forty years ago! The trouble is, I was "born" at thirteen, and dropped right into the most cringeworthy years of my life. So what did I used to love.
Spandex. Earrings. Fade haircuts. Goggles.
Okay, the goggles were actually pretty useful, but man. I thought I was the hottest thing ever, and now... sometimes the Planet runs old photos of me, and it's just awful. It's not quite as bad as Dick in short pants or Tim in tights, but it's pretty bad.
I used to love being a clone, too: being "special" and different and possibly immortal. I've got the hang of it now, made peace with it, but it was pretty tough for a while. It isn't all fun and games, thinking about all the responsibility, the possibility I'll be responsible for other folks getting hurt, the idea I might either die young or live on while all my human friends die.
On the other hand, there's stuff I used to hate - school, girls, Smallville - that's just getting cooler and cooler.
"The best is yet to come", Ma tells me. I really hope she's right.
