Being Dis-Empowered Sucks
I can't believe how intrusive this was today.
I hold a meeting for my staff every Tuesday morning. This morning, my boss shows up and pulls the entire Sales Team in, and completely shanghais the agenda of the meeting. Yes, some good points were made, by both the sales staff and my team, but boy was I ever dis-empowered.
Sure, it's his company, but if he ever wants me to start giving him the results he wants, he needs to back off and let me do it myself, or I'll never earn the respect I need to make things happen. Plus, I know my team prefers my style of conducting meetings over his. Everyone in the company does.
