[All cofronting equally]
No, we're not bitching about having to pay them. We like roads and FDIC and such. There may be things the government spends money on that we don't like, but, well, most of the government's income is not from the few of us that actually pay our taxes.
I find it odd that, when I try to do the Federal Income Tax all by hand, I come up with a significantly larger number that I owe than Turbo Tax does, and there's nothing explaining it on the eventual print out. Hopefully, if I'm ever audited, I can get away with saying, "All I did was put numbers in and it spat that amount out. Ask Turbo Tax why it's wrong."
It did, however, give me the same amount owed on my Missouri Income Tax. $1 I think that's such a tiny sum that the Missouri government should just waive it rather than make me send all this crap in for it.
Either way, I'll take it. Besides, next year, I should be getting money back from the government, since my current employer is figuring my withholdings right.
Also, hopefully next year, I'll remember that the internet exists and all the forms I need are downloadable.
