[Karma fronting]
We're nearing the end of The Main List. One PCR left before it's nothing but the Minor List.
But, I can't decide. I've been debating over this for years now: What .44 Mag rifle to get?
Thankfully, the list of possibilities has been diminished. Due to reports of some being ammo-sensitive, or discovering that certain guns just can't have scopes put on them, I'm down to three real options.
Marlin 1894 or 1894SS would give me the ability to make follow-up shots, should I opt to use this, instead of my .41 Mag, as a deer hunting rifle, but like I just demonstrated, I don't lack for a gun that can take deer. Should I feel the need to put a muzzle break on my .44 Mag PCR, I cannot do it on this one.
H&R Handirifle would be inexpensive (like one third of the cost of the 1894SS), but would not give me any real follow-up ability, so would just be for the sake of having a .44 Mag rifle. Oddly, it's also listed as being the heaviest of the three, which will make it less of a beast to shoot. If I was going to need to put a muzzle break on any of these three, this is the one it would be least worrisome, and the easiest, to do.
Ruger 77/44 would be the same price as the regular 1894, but is lighter. As a result, it will beat up my shoulder more than my .41 Magnum does (admittedly, that's not much, but after shooting 50 rounds, I'm sore). While it will only give me a maximum of five shots (assuming I can have a full magazine in the well and a round in the chamber), I think that's enough for anything I need to do.
Any feedback?
