D&D character background
Many years ago, yet not that far back by Drow standards, a child was born to the 3rd house in __________. He was the first male born in the house and the first child born from both Sorcerer and Wizard. No one knew what would come from these two magic users. Till one day Xulstra (Demon Spider) was born. At an early age he had been drawn towards spiders, not only from his training as a drow, but something unknown to all.
At the age of 10, the time young drow learned their skills, he had successfully figured out how to use the talents of a Warlock. Warlocks were not rare, just one with this kind of power at such a young age. He also had the knack for keeping spiders from attacking him. His skills grew as he went to the school of magic, where his father was head teacher.
As time went on he learned more about his abilities as a Drow and as a Warlock. And in that time his mother had 3 girls and another boy. All 3 of his sisters grew up to be priestess of Lolth. For his unnatural skill with spiders he was assumed to be touched by Lolth herself, thus was not raised as a normal male would be. He was treated as an equal.
While on patrol with a group from school there was an underground earthquake that caused the roof of the cavern to collapse on his family's house, though he thinks it was a rival house. As far as he knew his brother was still on patrol in a different part of the Underdark.
Just before he left his father made for him magic items to help him in school and on patrols. The first thing created was an Adamantine Spider attuned to his House Insignia, it would help him when a fight got 'too close for comfort'. Next was his "White Cloak of the Spider" to help him get away from a fight. A gift from his mother was a Dagger and Rod to help him stay on his path to becoming a spider, as Lolth wished for him.
Coming home from the patrol he saw his house was crushed by the earthquake. Assuming the worst for his family he decided to go off in search of his brother. Since it was not an attack on the house the status of it stayed. No other house could become the 3rd house of __________. So he set off for years looking for his brother, his search had brought him to the surface, where it is said he had joined a surface raid on a group of elves. Spending every waking moment in the sun adapting to the searing pain it brought upon him he learned more about the spiders of the surface.
Traveling he would find clues to where he might be able to find his brother, he happened on a city that was having problems with a spider infestation. Due to his training with spiders he was able to 'convince' them to leave the town. He stayed in the town for a few weeks earning money as 'pest' control. He was amazed that the town wasn't as bad as he had thought. Though still loyal to Lolth he would not adapt to the town.
He, to this day, still sits in taverns listening for any word on Drow activity on the surface. Hoping that one day it would lead him to his brother or those who destroyed his House.
