If we are stronger today because of those events, why would we want to change them?If this kind of thinking leads to " Regret ", it is a spiritually destructive point of view. because it can freeze your mind from making future decisions. we all know we cannot change the past, we can only make actions for the future. Ignorance can be modified by education for the future. Selfishness can be modified by focusing on charity, and generosity. Fear can be overcome by focusing on we only have this life to live and how would we want to live that life. All the things that caues regret over past events can be changed into strengths by focusing on the virtues that are the opposite of those weaknesses which cauesd regrettable past actions. The CHALLENGE is to maintain our focus om the positive virtues which we want to live our lives by. We look for support from our friends or family, or community and sometimes they are not strong enough and we have to look to God by ourselves. This is my challenge as well. I have just begun studying the Qur'an and I find it particularly supportive in this kind of mental challenge.
