Parks and Rec & New Girl, the gang from Apartment 4D goes on a roadtrip to Chicago, but the Manbulance breaks down somewhere in Central Indiana...

First in Friendship, Parks and Rec / New Girl, PG, familiarity with both fandoms would help.

"No. No. No. No, no, no, no, no," Schmidt tapped at the steering wheel. "Not now, baby, not here."

"Schmidt," Jess gently warned him from the passenger seat. "Is that smoke?"

"No, it's not smoke. The Manbulance doesn't smoke."Are you sure it's not picking up the habit?" she asked, gripping at the side door as Schmidt pulled off the road. Smoke began to billow from under the hood, and the engine gave an awful clang sound as it stopped firing. Jess jumped and yelped with a startle at the sound, waking Winston and Nick who were curled up together in the backseat. The two men began to sit up half-asleep, looked at each other, and wordlessly detached to far opposite sides of the backseat ( ... )

"We're coming from Los Angeles," Nick answered. "Home of gang violence and mean streets," he tried to menace, clearly not over the threat of a stranger ( ... )

"Jess, Winston, this is April and Andy, they're our resident newlyweds. Tom, who you're probably best avoiding, and Donna. Everyone else seems to be out to lunch," Leslie looked around, wishing Ron could meet the tourists ( ... )

A/N: I feel the need to explain that, um, given the alleged location of Pawnee and the drive from L.A. to Chicago the group wouldn't have passed through Southeast Indiana at all so I had them detour and it turns out the track I picked hits both Graceland/Memphis and Dollywood so there you go. Schmidt is the one who insisted on Graceland. He has secret Elvis admiration.

oh my god this is so fantastic! you have a great voice for the new girl crowd and their perceptions of the parks department were great and YOU GOT IN SOME NICK/ANN and your schmidt was so great!

and oh man, this line too had me grinning like a fool
"And that's enough of that," Winston gently wedged himself between Jess and the stranger protectively.
so perfect and i can 100% picture winston saying exactly that and squeezing himself in front of a over-eager tom.

THIS IS SO WONDERFUL I AM GREEDY AND WANT MORE BECAUSE IT'S SO PERFECT THANK YOU SO MUCH!

:3 I'm so glad you like it!!! First time writing New Girl OR Parks. Never realized how much love I have for Winston.

(NICK/ANN WAS A NECESSITY. Because it is a necessity.)

There would have been some Cece/Ron flirtation if I could have figured out how to cram her in there but no go. Glad you liked it! :)

BLESS YOU
seriously all of your character voices were so great and your Schmidt was just perfect. And I loved Nick being afraid of Leslie and Winston being protective of Jess against Tom. It had so many wonderful little character moments. And the Ann/Nick scene at the end was so cute.

I loved writing this. The Andy line about thinking all European sports are American sports but played with your feet is a personal favorite.

I may one day finish it up with actual plot but for now... I'm just glad it's liked :)
