On being a designer
I always tell people I'm in art school but in truth I'm in design school. I want to be an illustrator, ultimately, but I'm also trained as a designer. I can design websites, logos, t-shirts... anything you want to pay me to design. Recently my design work has been in more demand than my illustrative work. I've gotten the chance to do two logos and one website, and each one fills me with a little more confidence. Perhaps in time I'll be able to see myself as a designer and an illustrator, not just a student of both.
