Weird things that happen at bars, which is why a man-shield (ie: a boy who is a friend but is big enough to look like they look threatening to others in social situations/a boyfriend in image only) is essential and a required person if you are dancing out with people who don't normally guard you from strange men who:
- ass pinch
- ass bite
- preform very awkward "cutting you off from your friend" circles
- hug you from behind asking if you want to dance (which is probably the LEAST creepy approach when you first dance with strangers, I've come to realize, because they seek your permission and don't just ride on your ass. Fucking dumbasses.)*
- etc., etc.
And the weirdest thing that happened tonight? This girl totally tried to mack on me the minute this one song ended. I thought she had just thrown her head back awkwardly into my line of vision, but then her arm came up around my neck, and man-shield #2 stepped in and dragged me out of target range.
Man-shields.
Unless you're with a lot of girls that know how to "guard" and "block", it's very essential that you have one.
**NOTE: However, the man-shield must know when to step in and when not to. This is why eye contact is important. A small nod will assure the man-shield that if the girl agrees to dance/etc., they don't mind for the moment. However, man-shields must look for panicked-eyed faces, which calls for intervention.
